Pirlo's ability is best suited to an offensive role in midfield, just imagine him play with Miccoli ;)
I liked him in that role mutch better too... I think his talent is not so inferior from Tottina but he must found his best collocation in Milan to compeat with him/her :D From the moment I think he's a step down, but I also cear 4 him to "explode" I like this guy :)

I think the time has come to look to the future and I really see Miccoli as a big part of the future. And Pirlo should be too, and he doesn't have Totti's attitude problems ;)
I don't think that Miccoli is ready just yet, and I would prefer D'Agostino or Cassano to Pirlo.

I don't really see any of these players as the Vieri-type ... Right now Vieri's replacement is looking to me like Corradi, but I'm not sure if he cuts it ... How about Bonazzoli? :undecide:
Vieri is the perfect "first striker" I don't think it wll be easy to find soomebody his level. Corradi (and also Bonazzoli) are similar to him... but they are an other planet IMO. That's why I think next Italy first striker will be a different kind of player maybe a not so strong but quick one like Sculli or Borriello.

If he can refind his U-21 trequartista form, then definetely I would play him there, but the question is, can he?

Since he doesn't get the chance at Milan, I woud give it to him :)
It will be nice, he did so well with the U21.

Cassano... 2 years ago he was 4 everybody "the biggest talent after Baggio Italy ever had" but now he did everything to change his situation...
Leaving his personality at the side I also saw that he get too heavy recently... I think skillfull players has to maintein themself light and not to increase they muscles too mutch... it will ruin their dribbling ability.
4 D'Agostino is too soon to speak, he's promising but he still faraway to do all what Pirlo did also if I have to say Pirlo did very few if you think at his potential.

Who knows... I hope so, he's a big talent it will be a pity to loose him.

it truly will. especially for roma. I think roma have had enough misery now. i hope they regain form and capello's job stays safe long enough for them to do well next season.

I was talking about Pirlo not Cassano in the last post :)
Anycase I hope Cassano will make to become a "great" too, also if he has a kinda nasty and arrogant personality... he's a talent, but IMO he's loosing his skill increasing his muscles too mutch.

    ------------------- Buffon

    ---- Legrotteglie --- Nesta (C) --- Cannavaro

    Camoranesi --- Maresca --- Fiore --- Zambrotta

    --------------------- Pirlo

    ----------Miccoli
    ----------------------------Vieri
I love it. Am I the only one? :D

Minor problem, I prefer Toldo, well, at least when he is on form.

Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon, Francesco Toldi, Carlo Cudicini/Angelo Peruzzi/Cristian Abbiati (dependent on form)

Defenders: Fabio Cannavaro, Alessandro Nesta, Mark Iuliano, Daniele Bonera, Simone Leggrotalie, Matteo Ferrari

Midfielders: Alessio Tacchinardi, Giuliano Giannichedda, Massimo Ambrosini, Stefano Fiore, Mauro Camoranesi, Francesco Totti, Enzo Maresca, Andrea Pirlo, Marco Delvecchio, Gianluca Zambrotta

Forwards: Alessandro Del Piero, Cristian Vieri, Fabrizio Miccoli, Vincenzo Montella/Bernado Corradi (dependent on form)

    Captain: Fabio Cannavaro

    -----------------------------------Buffon-------------------------------------
    ------------Bonera----------Cannavaro----------Nesta------------------
    Camoranesi------Tacchinardi---------Fiore--------------------Maresca
    ------------------------------------Totti---------------------------------------
    --------------------------Del Piero---Vieri-----------------------------------

IMO this is what Italy should do, though I have doubts over Enzo playing on the left, I cannot think of a better option, perhaps Delvecchio or maybe even Zambrotta, but we lack quality over here

    Thank you ;)

Toldo? I think Buffon is better overall. But if I were to pick on favorites it would be Peruzzi :D

    Me likes. ;):D

The goalkeeper and back three are good, and I like the combination of Tacchinardi and Gattuso in the middle, with Tacchi holding down the fort (spelling?) and Gatto ball winning. The only downside of that central midfield pairing is that none of the two of Tacchi and Gatto are exceptionally well at passing.... The rest of the lineup is great also.

Very interesting ... I like it alot, but I would be tempted to swap Fiore and Maresca. The only other thing I would do to change the team would be to stick Zambrotta in there somewhere, but that would mean removing either Camo, Fiore or Enzo which I would try to avoid.
