I don't think buying Alonso will leave us without budget.
Reason: You can't buy 2 class defenders for 20 mil. So, if you're saying that not buying Alonso will give us 2 top defenders, you're wrong. Amauri bought from budget money, Xabi from budget money and I think we'll get LB from the money of the sold players. BTW we aren't that poor as it seems. We'll get through it, just a matter of time.
Sorry but I dont have faith in our administration, including Ranieri. They dont know what the team needs. The most iimportant department in a team is the defence. They are not thinking of the defence. We spent 3 whole months to buy Amauri, who doent want to come with us, otherwise he should have signed by now. They let Flamini who waswithout contract to be taken from us by Milan and I dont have faith as look who bought last year? Only low quality players like Tiago, Almiron, Molinaro, Gyrgera etc

Trez, Mexes, Clichy, Flamini, Ben Arfa, Sagna and Bodmer all quality players imo, just because a player doesnt go to the Euro's doesnt always mean he's crap.

Diarra for example was benched by the Flamster when he was with us, still he got called up while Flams didnt.

Flamini Flamini Flamini....do you knw the guy is not even going to the Euros :rofl2:...and FYI we had the 2nd best defence in Italy
Not even Trez is going to the EUROS who finished almost top scorer!!!! With that defence we will arrive nowhere, not even passing the Preliminary of the CL. I need Grosso and a very good central defender.

of the above-mentioned players, only Trez has proven his credentials on the international stage...the rest have yet to prove themselves

Faith in our administration is one thing, but faith in our Traditions is another. It cant go on and go on, somebody or somehow it has to stop. Either Secco would go or Blanc, or Ranieri(dont believe he has a winning mentality, but i just keep hoping,he can prove me wrong), or even whole board, but it will change or we will make them to change that.

JUVE its not just a club that i support, its THE WAY OF LIFE!!!

why are you so adamant about signing a CM ?

do you really think bringing in alonso (for zanettis position) would result in a bigger quality leap, than e.g. bringing in vargas for molinaro ?(who, by the way would be at least 5 Million Euro cheaper and also younger than alonso)

i must say that i do not like christiano ronaldo and i do not dislike molinaro ... but i will hear you swear, when we meet Man United in the CL and Ronaldo will score 5 Goals over Molinaros side, because he will get fucked up by any decend technical and speedy winger on internation level ... i really don't think xabi alonso will score so many long shot goals or make so many assists, as molinaro could cost as goals on the international level ...

i have to agree, that if you are forced to buy a central midfielder that also has a defensive side you would probably do good signing alonso ...
Why am I so adamant about bringing a CM? Perhaps it's because I fucking want someone WHO KNOWS HOW TO PASS THE BALL.

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. We could sign Alonso and also an upgrade to Molinaro. Honestly, I don't even know what you're trying to do here because we could sign a replacement for Molinaro as well as Alonso. Do you HONESTLY, and I mean honestly, think a player such as Vargas is more important to a side than a CM such as Xabi Alonso? Give me a break.

I don't care either way if Juventus get Xabi Alonso. Pool are probably asking for too much, but so does everyone else. Sure he will help out our transfers this summer, but I'd rather have him then Barry.

What annoys me is these fans that make off the wall valuations of players they admittedly know nothing about. As if an out and out attacking left back will make more of a difference than a solid CM. He doesn't even know Alonso's status at Liverpool. I think it is quite obvious the guy doesn't really have a good enough idea of Xabi's capabilities to make such an assessment.

But really you guys should go ahead and by a LB because there is sooo much quality out there right now. Like 20 million euros worth of quality. You know the kind that make your stats go up and win you Scudettos and CLs. Take your pick Bridge, Riise, Vargas, and Dossena all offer a trip to the next level. :melayyanandmessi:
These "fans" just don't know anything about football. This guy we're arguing with considers statistics a more vital factor over influence, so already his opinion doesn't deserve to be respected. He has NO CLUE as to what a great passer could do to a side. Did Pirlo lead Milan in goals or assists when they won the Champions League the previous year? NO! The guy is just totally out of touch with the current market, our situation, and the necessity of a passer in a squad such as ours.

Rivaldo was a great player too, but Van Gaal got rid of him. So, is Rivaldo a bad player, or Van Gaal a bad coach? They are both great, but this is football. BTW Rafa can't play for long runs. I bet he'll never win PL. He's trying to buy Bentley for over 20 mil.
No its Barry that will cost over 20 mil. Blackburn only want 14-16 mil for Bentley.

We should not and can not question about Xabi's credentials.

- He has great passing skills.

- He can control the ball very well (I can say much better than Sissoko and Zanetti. This is why Camo had to play in the mid beside Sissoko).

- He can make some difference to the match.

- He is defensive, right now Zanetti is more defensive but come on, Xabi's only 26 he has many rooms to improve.

The only thing here is Liverpool is asking too much (I say so because we all wanna buy things as less money as possible). That's all. :xfinger:

And I think it's our board's business. Just cross finger, I believe we'll see him in Juve jersey next season. :spliff:

Forza Xabi...come here baby :spliff:

Alonso on verge of sealing move from Liverpool to Juventus

Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso's agent is set to meet Juventus officials to tie up a move to the Italian giants.

Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli is cautiously optimistic of doing a deal with the Spain international, but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee.

Liverpool are thought to be asking £16million for the Basque-born player, but Juventus hope to pay nearer £12m.

Alonso was one of Rafael Benitez's first signings when the Spanish boss took over at Anfield four years ago, arriving for £10.5m from Real Sociedad.

But the 26-year-old has found his first-team opportunities limited with the arrival of Javier Mascherano and with 21-year-old Brazil midfielder Lucas also making an impact.

And with Benitez still trying to tie up the move of England midfielder Gareth Barry to Anfield, the departure of Alonso would not be a surprise.

"It looks like his representative will arrive today," Gigli said. "We can't deny that we're interested, but there's always the problem of getting value for money.

"(Managing director Jean-Claude) Blanc is working on this and on other possibilities."

if u read one of my first post, i mean really try to read, then you will see, that i state that i want alonso in juve, too ... but the price tag is to high for me ...

i just wrote what alonso had to bring for me, to spend more then 20 Milion Euro on him.

and YES obviously a team with a weak left back would be strengthen more via buying vargas, than a team that has already a decent central midfield that is buying alonso...

the quality difference between molinaro and vargas is much greater than between zanetti and alonso ...
