Am i too smart or you (90%) a bit retarded. Xabi is much better than Zanetti ever was or will be. Its not only long balls, its a technique in any way,its a shot, short pass, free kick.... He can control centre of the pitch, he can run the game, control the tempo.Zanetti is only slightly better defensively plus he is older.

So it would be a great signing. We must participate in 3 comp. and with just Momo and Zanetti(dont count flops:Tiago,Almiron,Nocerino and young Marchisio) , we would be very vulnerable. And about Molinaro, its not a secret, he is the weakest link, so if you get only one player ( LB or CM or CB ), it would not provide the strength we need to be competetive. We need more class players.

good to learn this !

HARRRR HARRR Liverpool are so dumb to let the greatest player on earth go, for only +20 Million Euro ...

so good that we know that he is really a class act (and surely better than mascherano and gerrard combined)

god, i am so proud that all of you know the quality of alonso better, then this sick guy benitez, that surely will have had his mind about letting someone make an offer for him .... of good that he is just a dumb manager in premier league and doesn't know how good alonso is...

fact is, Benitez will have his reasons for not saying "alonso is a key player and will not be sold"
fact is, he aint gonna tell Juve the reason, because that would lower the money he can get from that
and imo fact is .... if alonso was the class act everybody here wants him to be ....
he would be playing instead of mascherano and liverpool would not even have thought about buying mascherano, when they got a great player like that ...

the reality will lie anywhere between your opinion about alonso and the fact, that he is not good enough for benitez to hold on to ...

good night

EDIT

I'm still refusing to believe some would say no to Alonso. But then again some people here said no to C.Ronaldo.
if buying alonso means, spending whole of our budget and so not fixing the positions we are weaker at ... then i would say no ...

i don't unterstand the point in strengthening departments we're not weak in, at first ... and waiting for the needed reinforcements to get snatched by other clubs ...

every Coach has different ideas...look at France...Domenech has not even chosen David Trezeguet, one of the best strikers on the planet? So does that mean that Trez is a crap player...Sheva didn't play a second in the recent CL Final...is he useless?

Yes, its true. Buying Alonso will leave us without money to buy LB and a central defender, where are our weekness. We need a playmaker not another Zanetti. We should buy Messi but we are not Inter or Milan or real Madrid. The money we are going to spend on Amauri are a waist of money. We have good attackers. With the money on Amauri and Alonso we could have bought a very good playmaker and 2 good defenders.

If we remain with the defence, we wouldnt even pass from the Preliminary of the CL.

You're right, Alonso is a crap player. Rafa doesn't run a squad rotation, Liverpool don't need to make sales to get the signings they need this summer, and Xabi wasn't featured in just about every game at the end of the season, once he came back from a stress fracture in his foot which kept him out for half the season. Xabi is only capable of the long ball, has zero creativity and he plays defensive midfield just like Zanetti and Sissoko. Xabi and Mascherano are the same type of player and were not the field together at any point what-so-ever during the season, even in Rafa's 4-2-3-1 that features two holding midfielders. Xabi Alonso didn't start the first match of the season and the last match of the season. Xabi Alonso is crap and isn't suited for the Seattle Sounders let alone Serie A.

Oh and Reggina is the best team ever in Serie A. And Nocerino is better than Fabregas.

Amauri was a mistake. But you will still be able to purchase a left back to replace Molinaro. Xabi will probably go to Juve for somewhere around 17-18 million euros. Rafa is just trying to see what Juve will pay and his valuation will go down unless someone else becomes interested. Let's be honest there are really no superstar LBs right now who are available. So the best you can do will do be getting someone who is solid defensively and decent going forward. So that's what another 6-7mil? It's doable, but you guys can count out on getting that phenomenal center back. I guess you can thank Amauri for that one.

and all this Molinaro-bashing is really starting to make me sick....I honestly hope the guy improves and becomes a solid if not good player for us...but it's never gonna happen :(

I don't think buying Alonso will leave us without budget.
Reason: You can't buy 2 class defenders for 20 mil. So, if you're saying that not buying Alonso will give us 2 top defenders, you're wrong. Amauri bought from budget money, Xabi from budget money and I think we'll get LB from the money of the sold players. BTW we aren't that poor as it seems. We'll get through it, just a matter of time.

Rivaldo was a great player too, but Van Gaal got rid of him. So, is Rivaldo a bad player, or Van Gaal a bad coach? They are both great, but this is football. BTW Rafa can't play for long runs. I bet he'll never win PL. He's trying to buy Bentley for over 20 mil.
