It's lovely how they call it the "world series" yet only American teams are competing. Pretty dumb sport really, just like American football, which is perhaps even worse, although those guys actually do something.

And Canada... You obviously made your statement to polarize the issue and gauge reactions, pretty sad really.

Wtf are you blabbing about?
Ok let's see who's "blabbing" here, according to you:

premise 1: Baseball is pretty dumb
premise 2: Football is as at least as dumb, with possibility of being dumber
premise 3: Football is better than baseball because its players " actually doing something"

wow this is taking contradictions to a whole new level.

Guess what, I never said 3.

I suggest you look up the meaning of "although". "Although" does NOT mean what you think it does.

Try to understand this sentence:

"Although American football players actually move around on the pitch, I don't like American football very much."

By your reasoning I have now said that I like American football very much. Which I haven't.

although those guys actually do something.
So here first is likeness: on the same level.
Then "worse": making football lower.
And finally "although": retracting to impart some merit, cancelling the likeness to baseball.

This fragmentation of the mess you wrote is my last input in this subject; if you dont get it I SUGGEST you visit this site www.hookedonphoenics.com/

"Although" doesn't cancel anything.

Example:

"Totti's a great player, although he's an asshole."

"Although" doesn't cancel the fact Totti's a great player.

Thus "American football can be considered worse, altough the players actually do something" means this:

a) American football can be considered worse.
b) Altough the players actually run around and stuff, it still is at least as moronic as baseball.

If anything the use of "although" in this case, would stress the fact that American football is stupid. Because while having the advantage of actual activity, I still find it a dumb sport. On the other hand one of the reasons baseball is stupid is the fact there's not much activity involved. So anyone who came up with a game that DID have activity, but was STILL as stupid, must have been a real jackass.
