It’s very likely he’ll die before the end of the tournament so the team will possibly have that shot. And I can only imagine the boost that would give the players to give their all. Pelé is the personification of not only that country but football, he’s the big one.

He didn't push out Zlatan, he went to management and told them to get rid of Zlatan. Zlatan has talked about Messi being scared to talk to him. Zlatan puts his own spin on everything but it wouldn't be out the question. Messi already comes off as quiet and reserved and others have said the same about him. Wasn't it Xavi who said Messi wouldn't talk a lot in the locker room but would go to management with his feelings? Xavi said it like it was a good thing but to me it sounds like an insecure bitch.
And going from being a 50 goals a season guy to 30 goals is a massive drop... That's a lot lmao... You said it like he'd still be looked at the same lol
Honestly, the amount of pure bs you are spewing is impressive
Just admit you hate the little dwarf with a passion like others do here and be honest at least, instead of beating around the bush with these fabricated and non confirmed high school chatter rumors.
These types of arguments are the same people use to try to discredit Cr7 for his at Madrid ( narrative of him having it easy Because he played with modric, Casemiro, Benz etc) or him being serial rapist etc
Facts is These two are by far the best players the last 20 years and by a mile. No mental gymnastics will change that.
That said it will be a beautiful day when we can move on from them and past these insufferable debates

Zlatan said the same about Pep. It was in his book.
So suggesting that Messi's lack of accommodation for Zlatan and E'to could explain why Guardiola pulled quiet quitting in managing them, actively running away from them to avoid contact and speaking with them at some points.
Litterally worst example ever. Every average team in Serie A since Sassuolo has been there has atleast one big win vs Sassuolo.
They are like the least stable defensively team around in top European leagues. They concede goals like they get a bonus check for each.
Incredibly fragile and exposed team at the back (their whole ethos seems Zeman-esque just keep up fancy passing and attacking). People forget that simply because they get couple upsets now and then.
Doesnt matter the supporting cast, the league, Messi has been one of the best players of all time. Its crazy to think he wouldnt be as effective anywhere else. In his prime he toyed with every defense there is.
Both Messi and Ronaldo have been extremely successful and performed amazingly in their respective GOAT teams, both were a big part of their teams' success BUT, Ronaldo won the CL with a Man Utd team who at the time were nowhere near the other elite teams. Ronaldo has elevated all his teams while you can't tell with Messi because he's just gone to PSG.
Also, Messi's Barcelona have been humiliated a few times in CL, mainly where the Barcelona system was nullified which also killed his game altogether. I can see Holland doing the same to Argentina and Messi being pacified on Friday.

I havent. It was a glorious evening. But we did concede 6 goals against them on 2 other occasions and we could boast of being one of the best defensive sides out there at that time. To think that Messi wouldnt score 30-40 goals in Serie A, is crazy. He was simply that good at one point.

Messi went to PSG at the end of his career. Hes not the half a player he was 5-6 years ago but hes still considered one of the best. Both him and CR were the best players I have ever seen and Im not a fan of either. Before them players scoring 30-40 goals per year were considered killers. These guys kept scoring 50-60 goals consistently.

The fact that people put Messi and Ronaldo in the Maradona and Pele bracket is testament to their quality but, Pele was a kid at his first WC and him and Maradona played against butchers and leg breakers, they'd be unstoppable playing soft modern football.
