In part they've started doing that though.

A big problem imo is the lack of athleticism and training of the women in team sports. If you look at female 100m sprinters, they are insane athletes and very well trained. They outrun 99.9% of men in the world. That is definitely something I could watch.

This is not the case in for example female football players. They are not fit and they are not even technically strong. I am an amateur player, but I am very confident that I could walk onto any female national football team and be among their best players instantly. Which is demonstrated by the fact that they routinely lose (and lose big) when they play 14 year old kids. Don't get me wrong, I think it is improving. But progress is slow.
It's a chicken and egg situation. You need more women to take up the sport for it to become better, which means they need to be paid decent enough to make a living out of it. But for that to happen, you need an audience that will watch the games to generate revenue.
Big clubs having a women's team is certainly a step in the right direction. There needs to be a lot more investment in the grass roots level, so that in a decade or two, the standard increases drastically.

What are the expectations for Neymar? Surely back for the knockouts?
They don’t know yet, still doing treatments and allegedly healing well but they won’t really know until he’s fit enough to train. My feeling is that he won’t make the first knockout match since he hasn’t even left the hotel since the injury, maybe the one after if Brazil makes it.

Nah. I started watching the Portugal women's NT this year. They're fun to watch. I don't expect a head-to-head athleticism contest with the men.

Perhaps this is a little of my own window into why so many people watch American college football in the US. It's not about the physicality and skills of the players being better than the pros. Even if I think college football is for pedophiles (Robert Anderson and Jerry Sandusky say "hi"!)

There is still a skill there. There is growth in teamwork I've witnessed. There's the spirit of national team support. it is all there for me in the women's game.

Do it for Neymar

the question is are there really any world class full backs left in the world? I mean REAL word class
Depends on the criteria. Clearly fullbacks have become more attacking minded players over the last few years. Cancelo is world class going forward. It is a tactically demanding position, you need to defend and attack well and you're always running. I can see why it's not the first choice for many players.
