Is this new Spain this good, or Costa Rica this bad? I thought Costa Rica was a tough team to play against in recent years, at least tough and gritty defensively (they only conceded 8 goals in 14 qualifying matches) but this is just a complete drubbing. 4-0 @ 60 minutes, 0 attempts at goal for CRC and Spain has 85% possession.

This new Spain is good, there's no denying that.

Like always though I absolutely hate the way they play.

They're good but the score deceives. This is the perfect start for me if you want to see them fail horribly as soon as they come up against a, say, Switzerland.

I think they have a chance against Belgium. Our team has so many glaring weaknesses. Our coach has been horrendous ever since he was appointed too. He lucked out with an Eden Hazard in fine form in 2018, but he's so incredibly weak tactically.

Even with a good coach our squad is aging and slow though.

I think Concacaf is terrible. We topped qualifying, but watching Costa Rica, who tied the US in points during qualifying just goes to show how far behind and bad the region still is. Our team is solid, but that’s probably the best that could be said for it.

Aside from past Mexican teams, I think every side would struggle immensely and rarely get out of European qualifying groups for WC. There have been some outlier performances in WCs from CONCACAF teams (outside Mexico) but that’s much easier to do in a few matches cramped into a couple weeks than to consistently perform for a dozen matches over a couple years. None of the CONCACAF teams are good enough to do that imo. Hope Canada proves me wrong here though.

In qualifying groups I wouldn't see Canada advance either, but this is one game. Canada have a lot of speed up front and we are slow and play a three man defence.

Also, our players are a bit arrogant towards smaller teams because they have had big careers and that's never smart.

I'm personally not impressed with them at all. No offense, but I'm not sure why they're so highly rated other than De Bruyne's existence.
