Im not advocating bunker approach, you need extraordinary defensive organization to pull it off. But surely being more smart about the space you leave behind, sitting back on occasion and using counters, would benefit you when facing teams with abundance of attacking talent, that would undoubtedly underestimate you as well and leave the space behind. Trying to go toe to toe against Euro sides will not work.
I misunderstood you then initially

Of course we don’t, but we don’t have the quality at the back to try to defend for 90 minutes either.

It’s also silly to sit back an entire match when you have someone like Adams there who thrives pressing and winning the ball back in the middle. He didn’t have a good match today, but we literally waste his talents as well making him be a stopper on top of box.
I honestly wouldn't know how to approach this Dutch team. They're not a fantastic side, but they're horrible to play against. Maybe you could sit back, but they have just enough quality to hurt you if you do. Attack all out and they hit you on the counter because that's what they do.

If we had better individual defenders and didn’t leave as much of a gap between the midfield and defense it might have worked out better. I think the Dutch can beat Argies unless Messi has a class performance.
