I wonder how many of those experienced Belgium players will be at the next WC. Courtois yes, can't see any of the others. Lukaku will be 33 and can't see him being in any serviceable condition at that age.

I think almost no one.

Doku is an exciting prospect.

This is wishful thinking perhaps, but Spain might want to end up 2nd in their group. If they win the group, they get Croatia next, and Brazil in the quarters. If they end 2nd, they get Morocco next, and Portugal in the quarters, which looks like an easier route.
It's very hard to end up 2nd on purpose tho, without risking elimination, so I'm pretty sure that Spain will go for the win tonight.

Gvardiol though, what a fabulous young defender. I wish Juve would give him a look.
wasn't he linked with chelsea last summer? i remember some insane rumored transfer fee in the ballpark of 80-90m

Not a chance. Chelsea are his next destination. Chelsea were already linked with a 90m euro move for Gvardiol this summer!
exactly

De bruyne is glad to see Lukaku choke in last game. Now the focus won't be on how de bruyne destroyed the team chemistry, but how Lukaku the mental midget epic choked with misses last game.

Ik its too late and wont happen but he has incredible potential. Only 20 yo and plays with such maturity and composure. Italian league is full of Croatian players, they poach them very young, but somehow missed out on him.

just saw it, missed a large part of the 1st half. this is ridiculous and needs to stop

Seriously this is just insanity. Doesn't go with the spirit of the game at all. I mean what was the fucking advantage that the Croatian player had because of that "offside"? This rule was made to prevent attackers from just waiting for the ball next to their opposition goal. Not for situations like this.

The last 15 against Croatia and he was bloody awesome. But we know he is. It's just that he struggles with injuries.

You will create another very good generation sooner or later. You're getting a steady influx of Africans. You've had a 10% population growth in the last 10 years.
It's more difficult for countries like Croatia. We've had 4,3 million people in 2010, and 3,9 millions now. That's -10%.
I fear we are witnessing the last good Croatian generation. Once Modric retires, Perisic follows him, and soon after them Brozovic too, the national team will not recover. Ever.
At least I lived to see my country in a WC final. I never thought that was possible.
