Are you surprised? How many of them there will be in 2026? :sergio:

Cavani is $#@!e.
What are you talking about? Their best player through 2 games. Really unlucky not to have like 3 goals and 3 assists so far.

Uruguay doesn't know and can't play possession football. They don't have any real creative players. They are basically Atletico Madrid of national teams. I expect them to look much better and win comfortably against Russia already.

Yes unlucky. He created two clear cut, one on one chances for Suarez against Egypt and one today for Sanchez. Then he had an awesome volley saved and hit the post from a FK vs Egypt and not many chances today, but that deflected header after Torreira's shot easily goes in on another day.

Always unlucky? No. 100 goals combined for his team and country over last two seasons with an average conversion rate of 29% - pure class. ;)

Luis Suarez is a national hero for Uruguay. Cavani is a jabroni compared to him. Rarely turns up for Uruguay in big international competitions. Not surprised he's flopping already tbh.

He scores a lot but he also misses a ton of chances

Overrated af
Every striker does, but he also scores more than most and sacrifices for the team more than anyone. Nothing out of the ordinary in the miss department since Ibra left and has the best conversion rate besides Icardi and he plays in like 5-6 competitions at the highest level.

I love how in the space of two paragraphs, stats are used conveniently, and when the numbers don't back him up, he's unlucky.

But yeah... stats :baus: If football was just about numbers.

Yeah, if you ignore context completely as in him playing wide for 90% of those competitions or without support when Suarez was suspended.

Not surprised he's flopping already tbh.
Ah, I see you're trying to troll. Let me be out of the way then.

How are they used conveniently? Are you familiar with the concept of sample size? I'm talking about luck in two games. 3-7 games in a big competition under special circumstances is a perfect setting for some anomalies. Two top class seasons are a good measure.

No, football is not numbers. I hate them in football actually. But some numbers are very useful for certain types of players. In the case of predominantly box strikers like Cavani is, conversion rate is a pretty good indicator. I also watched almost every game of his in the past 2 years so what I'm saying is based very little on numbers. I used them just to support what I've seen.
