No, football is not numbers. I hate them in football actually. But some numbers are very useful for certain types of players. In the case of predominantly box strikers like Cavani is, conversion rate is a pretty good indicator. I also watched almost every game of his in the past 2 years so what I'm saying is based very little on numbers. I used them just to support what I've seen.

I'll be honest, I don't watch the French League. If that's where he's great, lol cool. But every time I watch the CL and WC, he doesn't impress me. The numbers of hilarious misses I have seen cannot be undone with a 29% conversion rate probably built up against the likes of Rennes and Angers.

Except he scores in France, he scored in Italy, he scores in CL, in the national cups and leading goalscorer for Uruguay in WC qualifiers.

All that is fine, but what has he done in CL knockouts or the World Cup? I mean... if he's world class?

He's not shit, I'm not saying that. He scores goals, but he does miss way too many sitters.

P.S. Where did you get his conversion stats?

Finland will never make it. Aren't there like only 2 more spots for Europe anyway? Finland doesn't even make it to the Euros. Would still root for Italy even if Finland would make it...too bad Italy doesn't make it either these days.
