Don't argue with Linda, old lady doesn't want her favorite sport to change.
Yeah and you're so progressive  But can't defend your love for this change, so seems like you'd go for anything new.

And youre wrong again. There are many things I would change about the sport but it has to make sense. If you could provide a decent argument maybe I'd change my mind.

It's honestly not a big deal, but it's pointless. It's just FIFA trying to look they're doing work, like all politicians hoping to appease their gullible electorate, but they won't make actual meaningful changes

I think it's about quality, 2 pairs of fresh legs makes the game more intense and interesting. If you've played yourself, you'll know the difference between being fresh and being dead tired - not only you're not able to play at the same intensity physically, but also your technical capabilities and decision making are very likely to suffer.

And then there are scenarios like all 3 subs used and a player gets injured or gets cramps every 2 minutes, which decreases the footie quality even further, to me it's only a logical step, I don't see any serious cons here.

First of all, thank you for your relevant and well thought out reply. It seems that one shouldn't expect this these days at Tuz. Maybe it's a result of smart phone addiction and the attention deficit that comes with it.

Trust me, I know all too well how it is when your legs are gone. And as a defender whose job requires constant focus, i know the longer the game goes on, the harder it is to maintain. Mental and physical fatigue favours attackers imo, and more errors cause more goals.

As for quality, you're definitely right. However isnt the point of extra time to give teams a chance to end the stalemate? Yes, you can bring on a fresh winger, but you can also bring on a Sturaro. Out of the four subs we've seen so far, only one was really an offensive one.

No proper reply, cause to me it's obvious why another sub in extra time makes sense, and people have pointed that out plenty of times over the last few pages.

Obvious isn't it? What i don't get is why the hell one would be so strictly against it.

Better get used to it. CL will have extra extra-time subs as well from next season.
So you can bring on another fresh player when everyone is tired?

Makes sense to me.

you may be right about defenders being hurt by fatigue a bit more than attackers, although it'll take years before we can judge this objectively, but subjectively speaking I don't think this'll result in more games going to PKs.

all of the serious changes FIFA has done in the recent past - goal line tech, penalty area officials, VAR, extra sub - are going in the same direction, to improve the quality of the game, I think it's a good decision. before going further like this I'd like them to clarify some rules though, some alignment regarding handballs and penalties needs to happen soon.

No, only if it makes sense and there are zero downsides to it.

Like VAR. Meaningless, agreed.

Okay you have your opinion and that's that - no point discussing. Cool, noted.

Will get back to you, hard to type at length on my small screen phone :D

Yeah, VAR, which I'm in favour of. Like I said in the past.

You must think I'm against it cuz i said I understood swag's point of view. Perhaps it's foreign to you to be able to entertain ideas that you don't agree with.

Wrong.

The best and most entertaining in years.

Better than 2014, 2010 and 2002.
To me the 2014 world cup was great for me, but thats obvious since ze Germans won :p

The groupstages in this world cup has been a snoozefest bar few exceptions imo. The knockout rounds have been quite good (entertaining) though.

What a shit world cup, the only big teams left are Brazil and France with Uruguay as 3rd? Worst world cup ever?
all of 1/8finals have been very interesting so far, I don't understand what you're complaining about

what do you mean? :D there's been plenty of upsets and last minute chances in the group stages, of course the likes of Panama and Tunisia make you yawn at times, but they're there every WC

I havent watched all of the matches, not even close. But all Denmarks 3 matches in the group was hard to stay awake to lol.

Then Germany also played like utter crap, snoozefest there as well. Croatia - Argentina and Spain - Portugal was nice matches in the group from those i remember.

That Pavard strike was really quite incredible. Can watch it over and over again.
Same with Cavani's second, watched it about three or four times last night.

If we had that last season Allegri could've put Cuadrado in earlier, we might've progressed then :sigh:
