People here act like Nani is Jorge Martinez. Nani has played over 200 games for Manchester United and over 70 for Portugal. He is a very good winger and when he played regularly he was one of the best in the EPL and one of Man Utd's best. He had 2 back to back seasons where he produced 30 goals for his team (goals and assists) and was Man Utds player of the season at least one of those years. He fell out with Ferguson and that caused all his problems. Considering we have no player like him aside from Pepe I think he would be a great signing. We don't know how he would play under Conte but we do know Conte is alot better coach then Moyes and has gotten a great deal out of his players at Juve. So I would not bet against Nani returning to his old form and succeeding at Juve.

Conte originally requested Nani as one of the top targets for his 424 formation when he came here as coach but Nani's price at the time was about 35 million. If Conte still deems Nani (who is 27 and could give a lot) to be a player who he wants I think Conte has earned enough credit to ask for whomever he wants. Look at what Garcia did for Gervinho this year.

Tevez had a few fall outs at clubs as well and we are all happy to have him at our club. we need to be realistic as well...Nani is by no means the best option out there but for us he is a possible transfer. All this talk of Mata and Di Maria seems too unrealistic for our club to make happen. Maybe a change of environment for Nani, with added faith and playing time could see him return to his best which was obviously good at United before the fall out with Fergie.

If we have the funds then go for a Di Maria or Mata...but the Menez and Nani's and even Cerci's of this world are more likely to join than the bigger names.

if but only IF we can get nani for cheap I would be fine maybe you people are right. maybe he needs faith and a run of games and a coach who trusts him. supporters who won't yell at him whenever he messes up as long as he tries to fix it and runs back.

some good points raised by the other posters but I still don't believe Nani is an elite player. If we do get him I obviously hope he succeeds but I don't see him achieveing anything close to what Robben has.

If we can get Nani for around 15m and Menez for around 4m, I think is a reasonable to try both of them and evaluate them. Maybe both of them will step up in form and we will get our wingers for less then 20m. In the end what is the worst case scenario, both of them flop and we switch back to 3-5-2. Nevertheless we need to buy LB in any case, and I read Coentrao is available for 12m.
