You cant wait for players to develop to change the tactics and formations. If juve got both nani and menez or one or the other it doesnt mean we will change to a different formation permanently which seems to be your biggest fear. It will simply allow us to have a plan b. Also Red made a good example the other day how Man City play a 4-2-3-1 and their so called dm push very forward. While man c's problem is their defe se it is worth a sshot.

Another reason we need wingers is just look at the width of our games and look at the crossses. You cant play with a targetman and dont even cross it accurately
