no it doesn't, we don't have an effective enough left back any ways. So actually having someone capable like Ansaldi to perform as a natural Left back/wing back makes more sense than having a 4-3-3 without an orthodox left back nor even any proper wingers asides from pepe
Ansaldi is dying of throat cancer.

Why is Ansaldi 26 years old and still plying his trade for the formidable Rubin Kazan?

If he was half as good as you make him out to be, he'd be playing in a better league.

The fact is that we can win with any formation in Serie A. CL seems to be an issue because this is where we need to step up.
You don't see teams so weak technically in CL who just sit back and let our CBs + Pirlo play their game. In CL we're constantly pressed and this issue has to be solved.
In CL they dont press CBs+Pirlo. They press the rest. For ecample in last game 2 FCs pressed Cbs+Pirlo, and the rest 8 danish men marked our 6 players. It's easy, because CBs+Pirlo don't go forward.

We need to keep the 3man backline.

Pirlo, would work very well in the past but his decline is to much. sure, in games where he isnt pressed, or can send balls over the defence he'll still be good, but thats it.

we should look to move to 3-4-1-2.
Because we got pogba we can. Play vidal and pogba as central midfielders, with two defensive wingers on the side. get an attacking midfielder as playmaker and two forwards, one creative, one scoring
+1
3412 it the only alternative of going 4 men defense.

:agree:

Vidal - Pogba

Mata

Tevez - Lewandowski

but wait a minute.. Pogba instead of Marchisio? what about the tactical flow? :D
Seems like a great lineup. We could give up Pirlo and it still work! Actually I think that in the end we will have to give up Pirlo in order to change for the better (Dont ask me why but as great as he is much of our play is on him and we might have to give it to other players instead of one man) Just like with Zidane. Zidane was clearly the best player in the world but we became a much better team when we sold him to get Nedved as our play was not entirely on the back of 1 man!

:disagree: We reached 2 consecutive CL finals with Zidane in our team, and another Semi in 99, even though Del Piero was injured. We also won back to back Scudetti in 97 and 98, and were robbed of the title on the last day against Perugia.

We didn't just rely on Zidane, as we had great individual players like a certain Del Piero, Davids, and of course Trezeguet.

Nigga, Trezeguet didn't come until 2000. He had nothing to do with those successes you mentioned.
