Dunno.

I'd quite like a player like Suarez or Lavezzi who is more inclined than Aguero to drift into wider areas.
Without true wingers, the shape is somewhat smaller, despite 2 cm's that should allways stretch is somewhat. So the ds would need to be mostly good at moving into channels around llorente, who would play a significant role here.
He would ideally also be able to drife wide if thats where the space is, and cross it to the goal

But the real deal is that there are gonna be many times during buildup, where the ds will be getting the ball in confined space. Having excellent ballcontroll and beeing able to excell in close space, is vital aspect for me.

Before anyone says iniesta, the most vital aspect remains scoring goals

May have been the odd game where they changed shape, but they were pretty consistently using 4-2-3-1, certainly in the second half of that season.

They mostly played 4-3-1-2 in the first half of the season, as I recall.
Yeah, he basically posted the formation from the first half of the season.

But before people will say "omfg no wingers", the real issue here was Sneijder.

See, if you had ozil or mata or iniesta or gotze, this formation would be amazing. But sneijder isnt the one touch trough ball machine like the previous mentionned cam's.

Sneijder, excells in high balls into space for running players, whilst offcourse having the close controll and passing to be aspected from a cam.

With pandev and eto'o, sneijder could play his natural game and pushed inter to a new level

for next season we should go for a 4-1-4-1 which is a more pressing version of 4-3-3

When pressing:

Buffon
Litchsteiner Barzagli Chiellini Kolorov/Murru
Pirlo
Berardi Vidal Pogba Menez
Llorente

When Defending:

Buffon
Litchsteiner Barzagli Chiellini Kolorov/Murru
Vidal Pirlo Pogba
Berardi Llorente Menez

This is what pepe guadiola is using at bayern and for me it's even better than the 4-2-3-1 because you can have 2 attacking midfielders (pogba and vidal) instead of just one number 10 behind the striker. Plus, when it comes to defensive midfield you still have 2 veru good midfielders.

The red formation is too narrow for my taste. I believe the forward runs that our wing backs undertake are more effective at stretching the opposition (creating spaces in the opposition's lines that our CMs can penetrate from) than at actually providing decent creative outlets. I doubt Pirlo, Vidal and Pogba will be able to pose as much as an attacking threat as they currently do if the opposition wasn't stretched by Licht and Asa's constant presence in wide areas. In other words, licht and Asa create a good environment for our CMs to thrive in.

We'd need a young Maicon for our fullbacks to provide that kind of presence without being exposed defensively. We'll also need a consistent Ibra-like Llorente and a sub for him + a sub for Tevez or we'll be seriously screwed when the Giovinco's and Vucinics play ACM and Target man.

3-5-2 + 433 as back up formation remains the best choice for me. We wont need to buy much.. just optimize.

Basically, when we are pressing now, chiellini joins the midfield anyway, so i wouldnt worry about the fullbacks that much

The main use for this formation is against strong opponents, when there is space to drift into. If the opponent is falling back, we could just aswel deploy a 352, or have one or both wingbacks in the 41311Red© to move up.

Our defence would resemble much like now really, considering how far chiellini presses trough

You haven't addressed our lack of depth for that formation. It may suit our starting eleven but we'd need Llorente and tevez fully fit and in form all the time.

One of the upsides of the 3-5-2 is that the central midfield do most of the work and the scoring and you could have any two mediocre idiots playing upfront and get away with it most of the time. We won 2 scudetti without an attack because of our strong central midfield and the huge role that the 3-5-2 imposes on them. The 3-5-2 would completely fall, however, if we had 2 attack minded CMs injured (Pirlo and Vidal/pogba). We are damn lucky that it was marchisio that got injured and not Pogba or Vidal.

I'll sum up again the points I have against the red formation. Address each individually:
1) Its narrowness will make life more difficult for our CMs to contribute offensively as opposition defenses will be less stretched.
2) Consequently, its success is heavily reliant on Tevez and Llorente (I don't trust their consistency that much yet) even if our CMs perform their duties adequately.
3) It shares the same weakness of defending against double wingers that the 3-5-2 has. I see only the 4-3-3 as a pacifier to that problem.
4) If any of our strikers gets injured, we don't have anything close to adequate replacements and we'll be screwed because our attacking phase depends on the strikers doing their jobs not just the CMs. So depth.

Ok, I have been reading posts for some time now and I think we can mostly agree on this!
1. Conte will play 3-5-2 until the end of the season because of financial situation at our beloved club and nobody know what will happen in the summer...
2. Players list for departures are more or less the same, so we all agree that Storari, Rubinho, De Ceglie, Peluso, Motta, Padoin and Isla should be sold...
3. We don't wont to talk about selling Bonucci, Pepe and Marchisio, but we agree that those are players who can bring us some extra money and are the only players that can be sacrificed. Bonucci could be replaced with Masi or Pol Garcia, Pepe could be replaced with Berardi and Marchisio could be replaced with one of Appelt / Bouy or some of our players who will fit in with the formation...
4. If Conte will play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 then Vučinič should be sold before Giovinco, because Giovinco is better in that formation (remember his parma days!). I don't like him at all, but he can be a good back up for last 15-20 minutes of the game...
5. In the other way, if Conte will play 3-5-2 or 4-3-1-2 then Giovinco should be sold in front of Vučinič because he is useless in that formation. What I think is, we should sold them both...
6. Quagliarella is a good striker but because of his age and salary we should replace him with one of Boakye, Zaza, Beltrame or some of our players who will fit in with the formation. But in the other way I don't have anything bad to say about him and because of that, he can stay with us for a back up if he wants to...
7.I would like to see our management and Conte, to give the chance at least 2 or 3 of our youngsters to play in the next year and that we can sacrificed mentioned players and bring in a wingers instead of them.

Best regards to all...

La Juve ha l'accordo con Menez!
Menez Psg dito

Juventus have reached an agreement with Menez for a contract. Juve are going to try and get him in January, but if an agreement with PSG cannot be found, then we will sign him for free in summer.

one star player should be available in the summer. lavezzi, nani, di maria, jovetic, sanchez? etc may all be for sale but we could get only one. we should look ate the situation, consider every aspect of their game (and their price) and what they will give to our team and try to get the best option.

Juventus: preso il baby talento cipriota Kastanos
Juventus Marotta Paratici

We apparently signed a young Cypriot striker, Grygoris Kastanos. He was wanted by Arsenal, Man City and Udinese. He was born in 1998

You need marchisio in that midfield, it would be far better then with asamoah cause then you got 3 pressers and no covering midfielder.
Is it possible to change the 41311RED©? As you said Marchisio can cover the midfield while Vidal and Pogba can go forward. I am questioning because we can't get Verratti that's for sure, and if we can go with this formation then we only need to buy a top LB.

Buffon
Lichtsteiner-Barzagli-Chiellini-Kolarov
Pirlo
Vidal-Marchisio-Pogba
Tevez
Llorente
