Marotta:

If the opportunity arises, then we will take it, but at the moment we have achieved most of our transfer targets, We’ll see what happens over the next few weeks. We took on this season by maintaining most of the core from the previous squads and in the last 10 days we’ll see if any opportunities present themselves. We still need a forward, a support striker in an area where we already have a lot of guarantees, but it won’t be a shock level profile. Andrea Barzagli is recovering faster than expected and Luca Marrone showed he can play in defence, so apart from any other interesting opportunities we could well remain as we are.”

You forgot Caceres also.

This is how i see it with our current players

In a back 3:

Barzagli------Bonucci-----Chiellini
(Caceres)---(Marrone)---(Ogbonna)

In a back 4:

Lichtsteiner------------------Barzagli---------------------Chiellini----------------Evra
(Romulo/Caceres)------(Caceres/Bonucci)----------------(Ogbonna)------------(Asa/Ogbonna)

Now would you really trust Caceres/Ogbonna and Bonucci as our main cbs if both Barzagli and chiellini went down with injuries or suspensions? If we are really in for Nastasic, he is not only a player for depth but also a player for the future. The guy has a bright future ahead of him, and honestly if we do see Marrone as a cb then we are just retarded because he doesn't have the natural positioning and instinct that a defender should have.
We cannot spend on defenders forever just because you don't trust the names we have. Someone bought them and put the trust in them. It's ridiculous to buy Cbs constantly. We don't need any more. We're fine as it is now if there's a defender we want we have to sell someone first. Natasic is no god, he could be an improvement but we don't really need him now. Barzagli is recovering well according to Marotta and Allegri plus Allegi is happy with Marrone. As an emergency option he's good enough because there are plenty of players ahead of him. It seems we'll be using back 4 this season it makes it even easier to manage.

What we need is a winger/am/ss. We're very short in that department.

English media saying we have signed Depay ahead of Man U and Totthenham,
I've seen him only at WC but he looked decent there.

Anyone who watched him regularly: is he good enough?

Opportunities become targets, not the other way around.
Only if we're speaking on a very theoretical level, and then you could argue the same vice-versa.

For me an opportunity is a player who, for whatever reasons, becomes available for us at a price significantly below his actual worth. Examples: Pirlo, Vidal, Llorente.

A target is a player who we target for transfer regardless of other parameters. This of course often overlaps with opportunities, but includes a whole lot of other players such as Asamoah or Morata.

I wonder if some of you have ever seen the defensive lines of the biggest club. Players like Chellini, Barzagli and Bonucci...even Ogbonna could be starters for top clubs. And i'm not joking. Except Benatia, we have the best Serie A defenders. Clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona and even Bayern..have worse defenders than us. The only difference is their game development-tactic.
Don't underrate some of that players. We don't have offensive midfielders. We have 3 wingers, so we can play 4-3-3, we dont' have any AM so we can play 4-3-1-2 or somethin' like this, we don't have a same level bench for Llorente-Tevez.

The only one defender that i want is Nastasic, perhaps. Only for his price+age as future starter. But it's not necessary for now.
