Nobody wants Vidal to leave. But I suspect its not really in our hands - its all up to Vidal himself. If he decides to leave. I would rather just receive straight cash from ManU as none of their existing players are of much interest. If we did receive circa EU55m in a cash fee for Vidal I have ideas on how we could invest the money. Imagine this scenario (its not fantasy but possible):

Vidal gets sold for EU55m
We go out and buy Jovetic (25m) AND Lavezzi (18m)
Do a Giovinco-Guarin Swap with Inter - Giovinco plus 5m?
Give Padoin away.

Why exactly would a winger be needed if we're sticking to 3-5-2. One injury is all it takes to break us (Tevez). Lavezzi can prevent that.

Better as a player not as a purchase. Lamela and Iturbe have one good season under their belt and they are very promising (especially Lamela) but Lavezzi's football is higher than the two. I am a fan of his football but he is too old for us. Would only take him in a Tevez like deal.

No I'm not saying as a backup. They can play together imo, but at the moment we'd still have to rely on the joke that Giovinco is if Tevez drops out, needs a rest, gets suspended... That ain't healthy.

my argument is that we should stop settling for half solutions when we supposedly have money problems, how much more would lavezzi help us accomplish? as far as i am concerned this year is a wash, id be happy with a CL spot and save the money, if any, for next summer. Saying that getting lavezzi is better than nothing is wrong imo considering where we are and what we aspire to do.

So everyone's already decided we have no chance at anything this year. And thus we should sit back and watch as our players get one year older and we "compete" for the scudetto we've already won 3 years in a row except this time with less motivation and a shi**ier coach.

However, maybe...just maybe...if we keep Vidal, sign Lavezzi and Manolas we'll actually have a team capable of reaching the Champions League semi-finals or even the Final or even win it. I may sound deluded to most of you...but if we the fans aren't gonna be believing then how do we expect the players to believe? I understand we can't afford top class players but that never equalled success. We have an amazing group and don't let last years hiccup in the snow and Conte's shyness in Europe fool you...we can match some of the best...i can only think of a couple teams that would give us a real run for our money.

So if 15m for Lavezzi is gonna give us an extra edge, an added weapon to our artillery, then ffs bring him in. Maybe with our winnings from this upcoming seasons achievements as well as our new deal with Adidas we'll be able to attract and afford those big buck transfers.

As for Lamela, he can't be put on the same level as Lavezzi just yet and we'll see whether he'll ever fulfill his potential. Youngster barely had one good season and that was 2 years ago, currently is struggling to become regular, while Lavezzi has been protagonist in all the teams he has played for. He'd make a difference here.

We were propobly the team that gave madrid (the champions) the most trouble last year. We could easily argue we played better than them in both legs. Reaching the semi finals or finals isn't impossible. It's possible. But that's not the problem. Our issue is about "chances" of getting through. Sadly with our current team, players and limitations, our chances of doing that doesn't seem to be too great.

Maybe some of the new players will excel beyond expectation (coman, peryera, morata), and give us what we deeply lack. But for the time beeing, with tevez not scoring in CL, bonbon making his usual mistakes, our lack of pace and trickery and our useless predectable 3-5-2, we can't hope or believe too much.

Lavezzi is another good, not great player like Tevez - i.e. he won't make a massive difference in the Champions League. We need to be aiming for great players but sadly too many of them are out of our reach i.e. Aguero, Van Persie, Di Maria. Sanchez would have been perfect but obviously not happening now, the only realistic player left in this category I think we could maybe get is Shaqiri, again still don't know why we didn't go for Greizmann. This mercato is a fail if we don't get a quality winger who can make the difference in Europe. So far all we have done is strengthen our bench.

Do people really think Manolas will greatly improve the defense? I've only seen him a few times and have not really seen him make a lot of great challenges or anything. He was just another scarecrow in the back four. Godin would have been a great signing.

Have some people not seen Lavezzi play or something?? Currently better than Lamela who struggled with injuries but has shown great potential. Lavezzi does make us better right now, and at 15m that is a steal in todays market. We have young players with good potential elsewhere, and even in our first team with Coman and Morata (obv Pogba as well). Don't even compare Pepe to Lavezzi, that just shows you have something against him...Pepe at best is an industrious wide player.

Iturbe was about a third of the cost of Sanchez, thats not really a compare now is it ?

Sure, Sanchez would improve us more then Lavezzi, but Lavezzi himself would allready be an excellent deal.


No opinion about Manolas, cause every centreback is shit or close to average nowadays. Godin would have been good indeed. Cant catch em all

In this forum, i cant see anybody happy about almost anything...i bet if bought ronaldo with 100m euros, still people complain for example his hair not look good or he is diving or age... It seems no body satisfied at what so ever....
I think in short, i dont care how much we pay, what we will buy should be upgrade of what we have.

lavezzi based on the market value, player quality, our needness for him is GREAT...what else we can have... Prone to injury Jovetic or what ..
