But yet they have Tevez, Pirlo, Pogba, and Vidal, who could all be considered Top Players.

So what is it. Are you upset that Juve don't get top players, or that they don't go around flashing the cash like the big boys do?

A Top Player is a Top Player, regardless of how much you spent for him, or is this just an ego thing so that you can tell your friends "Hey look. Juve can spend money too!!!!!1!!1!!"
Pogba and Pirlo came for free. Tevez was pushed out of City. Getting Vidal was huge. I love every single one of those transfers.

But that's not even the point here.

Many members were saying how we can afford big and sign a top player. Those names don't count since you have to wait for their contract to expire. Majority suggested how we can sign a world class player, a game changer. Majority thought signing player like Sanchez was realistic. It's those names... players that are in club but attainable. When we fail to sign those (...if we even attempted) then people make comments like yours how we signed Tevez, Vidal, Pirlo and Pogba. Yeah, we did. But that has nothing to do with my argument.

Can I ask you a question? Did you think that Vidal was a Top Player when they signed him for 11.5 million 3 years ago?

Do you think he is one now?

Well definitely not Morata, Pereyra and Evra.
Was only interested to see how you think.

For me both Llorente and Tevez are top players. Vidal was also top player when we brought him, coming from a great season in Germany, key player for excellent Leverkusen side. Certainly wasn't our 2nd or 3rd option as we have been following him for a while. Don't let the price confuse you.

It was you (and one of the many) who I had arguments with, yet now you post totally different things.

I never said those are not top players.

You was speaking for months how we can 'easily' sign a top player. By top we meant someone expensive, we surely didn't talk about Coman. You said we could land Sanchez and many other players if we wanted.

Even at this point it has nothing to do with price, even if you wanna look at it that way. Evra, Pereyra and Morata are not top players. But we'll see, hopefully we do get to sign one.

At the end of yest session Allegri formed 2 teams for a short match which hinted towards 4-3-2-1 (Gio & Tevez behind Llorente).GdS

Erik Lamela (22), Stefan Jovetic (24), Javier Pastore (25) & Isco (22) are the attacking targets on Massimiliano Allegri's list. [GdS]

Read my post.
Then maybe the majority should temper their expectations a little bit. And is 42.5 million for one player, given Juve's business model (at this present time, subject to change with the improved TV and Sponsorship revenue starting next year), a player who is 50/50 as to whether he is one of those game changers that you speak of, the way that Juve does things?

Is that the way that Juve did things in the past? Of course not. Things won't change now. This club is funded and run by a corporation, where winning is nice, but the bottom line is nicer. They would love to win, sure, but not leverage themselves with a ton of debt in the process. I'm not saying that I agree with it, but I understand. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that with all of the net spending that Juve have done in the past 4 years, that they were one of the clubs who were NOT sanctioned by FFP.

Now imagine if they got hit with fines, what would have happened to this club. Conte would have left 2 months ago, instead of 4 days ago.

They will spend. I believe that they will,. When the money is there, which I hope is next year due to the aforementioned financial windfalls coming their way, the club will allow more money towards not only the transfer budget, but more importantly, the wage budget, because that is where I think that things get tricky. That's why I also think that it is smarter to get younger much sooner rather than later, as the salaries can be controlled a little longer. I mean, it's not as if Marotta and Agnelli get to keep whatever they don't spend of the transfer budget.

But hey, that's me. What do I know :D

Dont twist my words now. What I was saying to you is that we can spend 25m on a player, as we repeatedly did try this summer, even bidding close to 30m for Iturbe. You claimed that we cant spend more than 13m, while only Morata cost 18m.

The wages are our biggest problem. Milan signed Zlatan ffs. And Balotelli :seven:
And see, this is the difference. In order for Milan to stay afloat, they have to succeed and go quite far in the Champions League, because they really don't have much else outside of what other clubs that don't have their own stadiums do in terms of incoming revenue.

So, it's almost as if you hedging your club on future earnings, and then you see what happens. Zlatan gone. Silva gone.

Vidal must stay here. Selling him is unacceptable.
Everyone knows that bro.

Marotta and Nedved have both said that Juve are not selling him.

Agree, but some here still think it has everything to do with Marotta. I said this many times before, but people should remember how long it took Dortmund to come back.

I said 15mln. Yeah, simply because our most expensive players were Mirko, Asamoah and Isla. Then we had Bonucci and Ogbonna. Bar those we had Melo/Diego as our most expensive players.

So I was pretty much aiming at our history of transfers. (Tevez, Pogba, Vidal, Llorente, Barzagli, Licht = ~33mln)

But you're gonna be one of those to say 'we signed Morata, Pereyra, Evra and Candreva (??), we could have signed a world class player if we wanted'. But you know what, that's not the case and it's what I've been talking about for months.

If those Candreva rumors are true, the board must resign immediately, or Agnelli should fire them for misappropriation of funds and downright thievery. Better yet, sell off the club to a true fan.

Acquiring Candreva and losing Vidal in the same mercato is tantamount to the apocalypse.
