You can order players to track back (although the success of this will then largely be influenced by the players stamina), but defending is as much a skill as anything, and "coaching pace and skill" is as easy or hard as teaching how to defend.
So you're saying it's just as easy to take somebody like Peluso and 'teach' him how to take his man on as it is to take somebody like Nani and teach him how and when to track back?

He's definitely not better than Immobile, hell Madrid fans I know don't even rate him particularly highly.
This is a strange move, but then again most clubs tend to buy the odd random purchase.
Maybe, Immobile doesn't want Juve and vice versa. So instead of going out and finding an Anelka or a Bendtner we're taking a chance on a younger back up striker. Which is better than past seasons tbh. I just hope he's cheap because he's proved absolutely nothing in his career but being associated with Madrid usually means you're rated higher than you should be.

Well, yeah, he's not going to turn into a great defender. The point is, we should absolutely not be rejecting offensive players because their defending is a little suspect. Other teams don't generally do it, teams that are currently in a better position than us included. Unless the player is just ridiculously hopeless off of the ball I.E Taarabt, then it's fine.
We do not need a team of 11 workhorses. We have plenty of hard-working players in our ranks and our abundant lack of creativity and clinical edge left us with 5 goals in open play after 6 CL games.
Sacrificing a bit of work-rate for a lot of creativity at this point is absolutely vital. I don't know why some people are suggesting that the only way we can be successful is by having 11 willing runners. That's obviously not true. In fact, it's proven to be incorrect by a whole host of top clubs every single year.
