CM - Pirlo, Marchisio, Pogba, Vidal, Asamoah, Padoin
LW - Giovinco
RW - Pepe
CF - Tevez, Llorente

here are 20 players and we would need 5 more to complete the squad. 3 wingers, a backup CM and a LB (or another CM in case Conte sees Asamoah as a starting LB). there is also the possibility to sell PDC/Peluso and add a CB. then, Ogbonna could be moved out to LB... this is only my opinion, but i think its highly possible that we see something like this. so what names could we realistically get under these assumptions??

Here is what I'd like to see with the rumors currently: Nani, Sanchez, Kolarov, Immobile, Berardi. This would be a deadly mercato. Would be wonderful. Not too "crazy" expensive with buying Immobile back howler and Sanchez

Don't think we really need to mess with the defense too much other than add a LB and sell Peluso.

Huh? Don't you remember how well we played that first season with Conte using the 433? Our movement was so smooth and much less predictable than now. Pirlo played and he was a big reason for that. I don't think his 2 years older will play that much of a difference since his play doesn't require pace.

Sanchez alone would solve a lot of our counter-attacking issues.

But I agree with Zach, Marchisio instead of Pirlo would let Pogba and Vidal go forward more freely.

Its not about pace , in 4-3-3 when your rb/lb go forward your left with only 2 cb and pirlo ( cant defend ) , in a 3-5-2 we always have 3 at the back so much more cover for him .

That wasn't an issue when we played a 433 why would it be now? As long as our outside FW's track back a bit to offer an option for Pirlo to send forward, otherwise only one back needs to push forward at a time. Just because one back goes forward the other doesn't have to.

yeah, i was thinking something in that direction too, maybe Kolarov instead of Lulic because i have a feeling City will buy Marcelo/Coentrao and Kolarov would be even cheaper than Lulic in this scenario
