I know it's Tuttosport but here:

For the next year Conte has decided to return to a back four. Benfica are interested in Nani, but Conte made an agreement with him in January. We'll alternate between 4-3-3 and 4-4-2. There are also links with Sanchez...
4-4-2 with Asamoah and Lichtsteiner as LM and RM. :tuttosport:

6-2-2 :tuttosport:

Yeah if we can't get a decent LB, rather than buy a half-decent one for an inflated price we might aswell try and create our own.

give Udinese a call, i'm sure they have some young LB hidden away that's about to become a beast :tuttosport:

Honestly, LB is the one position I wouldn't mind putting faith into a talented youngster to hold down. Because the top ones are few and far between, LB is arguably the weakest position in modern football in terms of quality players. So, looking to a young player or two might not be such a bad idea.

Thoughts?
Could give Gabriel Silva from Udinese a try.

Edit: Wow I read your mind.

Agree, the is no need for a 20m+ leftback because it won't do much in europe. Dortmund last year used Schmelzer which is an very average lefback. I would say someone like santon/ bruno/ gabriel would go well.... i would prefer santon because he is italian and would not have communication difficulties etc... he is experienced from a young age to deal with players like ronaldo from champions league at inter and premier league experience.

Can also play RB, DM :D that_flexibility

Yeah, thankfully it's a position that we can (and have) get away with being a bit of a weak link. So, i'm positive we could find a LB or two that are promising and already at an acceptable level. I mean, as you say Schmelzer has been playing for BVB, Arbeloa for Madrid, Rafinha at RB is playing for the CL holders regularly ffs.

So, we could theoretically make do with a LB such as Murru.

from what i have seen of murru he is certainly good for a cagliari team but not ready for us unless he explodes if he joins us.
