That is true, we played much better football two years ago, and yes, it does indeed have to do with both the formation and mentality of the team.
The football was more exciting.

I wouldn't say it was necessarily better.

Conte really likes Roberto Pereyra and we are have offered half of Berardi or Zaza.(Calciomercato)

I'd welcome him here, he would be that Giaccherini type player with more potential and alot younger.(23)
No suggestion that they are at the point of making an offer.

so Pereyra huh? what are his qualities, what will Udinese ask for him, and where can he play (i mean where he CAN play for real, not that it says on paper he can play CM??? but he turns out to be shit there)???

Article suggests Udinese value him at 10m or a little more than that.

In playing style you could view him as a less energetic, but technically superior version of Giaccherini.

I tend to think he's best when playing in a midfield three and given the freedom to break forward, but I've seen adequate performances from him in a variety of positions (wing-back, trequartista, sort of winger).

Btw it's pretty weird how people consider transfermarkt.com a reliable source for anything related to a player.

It's no better than FM.
The got solid stats, when you need minutes played, goals, assists, previous matches, transfers, etc.

The 'market value' is just a pure estimation though, and it kinda makes me angry when it gets mistaken for facts by some people sometimes.

I will say it was plenty more exciting, but worse and inferior to the standard we got today

The same people who complain about formations and their penis size, are those who complained the most about DRAWventus.
And good point. Juventus was lucky that Zlatan couldnt keep carrying injury ravaged milan trough 2 competitions, seeing us who were in only 1 competition overtake them.

Conte's work was amazing, what he did to that team was beyond amazing. But we got lucky against a stronger milan back then.

BUT WE DID, we played fast direct high pressing football with 4-3-3 somewhere in 2011 WITH WORSE PLAYERS THAN TODAY, THIS IS A FACT.

see? you zach's peasants apparently have such short memory.
Yeah, in a single competition. With 1 draw every 2 games. People here were complaining conte didnt take enough risks cause if we lost some, and won some we would have more points.

I'll remind you of last season with minor changes (asamoah is not a wingback according to your people), that the 3-5-2 kicked the shit out of 4-3-3 from last season, with the same horrible forwards, AND with championsleague.

Who's your daddy now son ?

Almost signature worthy

It's ludicrous to say we were better two years ago, I have no idea why that myth is so widely spread. We were easier to break down, just look at the Napoli game where we were we were trailing by 3 goals at half time (the comeback was one of the best things to happen that season, but it doesn't take away our complete meltdown before HT).
In general our play was more energetic, also due to the fact that we only had to play one competition, but ultimately much more fragile, and above all, inconsistent.

352 with players like vidal and pogba will kickass a 433 with catagna players that's obvious. but a 4231 or 433 with the likes of robbery , Ronaldo and robben coming at you is another story. with the 352 there is no extra cover and that's why we flopped like fish against Bayern.

Also the 352 makes it twice as hard for the likes of vidal because they have to cover for overlapping fullbacks, attackinf midfielders and also they have to go an attack because we have a lack of with and basically can act as our wingers. that is a lot to ask and no wonder vidal and pogba are not playing as good as the start of the season.
