Selling one top player to bring in 2 or 3 simply doesn't work nowadays, Soon as we got 50M for Vidal we'd be lucky to buy 2 decent players. As soon as some nobody shows a glimmer of talent, clubs want 15M+ for them

A 'proven' player coming off of a good season? Even more

So basically in the foreseeable future, we'll continue the beautiful cycle of selling a bunch of benchplayers and then buying another bunch of benchplayers.
Forza Bunching up the bench!

I expect us to finish the mercato with Eto and Romulo. What would you guys think about that mercato?

Vucinic, Quagliarella, Peluso is gone and that is positive, especially Vucinic and Quagliarella who had quite big salaries. If we can sell Padoin,Isla I would be happy.

We have a better squad, and a really good bench next season. We got a LB in Evra, he is older but let's see how he does. Pereyra, Morata, Coman is young players and it will be interesting to see if they can develop to class players.

I and im certain many more expected more this mercato. ( It's still open, but this is what I believe we will get)
If we get a Shaqiri it would certainly make this mercato very good, still I think it will be okey.

Alot depends on how Coman, Pereyra, Morata will turn out I would say. Coman is the player I am most curious to see, let's hope we have a future star in our hands. Would be great to develop our own worldclass winger :D

That would be quite dissapointing mercato Elvis, I mean, we arent improving our starting eleven WHATSOEVER. Instead of giving the new coach a key starting player in attacking midfield role (wethers its centrally or winger), to kinda compensate for losing a dominating way of playing that we just lost prolly, we are instead filling our bench with "good" rotation/backup players. Huge meh.

Yeah I agree, I had bigger hopes for this mercato, but I am getting used to be disappointed :D. Sure we should have improved our starting eleven instead of our bench. The 3-5-2 is hard to improve IMO, but if we are going for a 4-3-3 this season we should look at wingers instead. Im still not sure how Allegri will play next season, lets hope that Coman or Pereyra explodes this season :D. The reality after this mercato is that we aren't making the final push to become a team that can challenge the big clubs in Europe, the dream that Conte and us supporters shared is propably dead now.

Who to blame that is the question? I read in a article on gazzettan that Conte only wanted Cuadrado this season, he would have been perfect IMO. He is perfect in a 4-3-3 and a 3-5-2, and would have given us that extra dimension that we been lacking. But you can't get it all, let's hope Coman becomes that guy :D

If we don't show the ambition to fight the big teams in CL im sure Pogba and Vidal will look at other teams sooner or later..

Buy a guy who can play in a 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-1-2. For a 4-3-3 we'd need to find 2 wingers who are capable of starting for a top club like us and that would mean one of Tevez or Llorente would be benched. A guy that can play behind one or two forwards would be nice this year.

and still I'd sell one of BonBon or Ogbonna for a better CB. :D

It would be nice, but the interview with Marotta about us getting a attacker killed my hopes a little bit for that :D. Firmano, Douglas Costa, Shaqiri, one of them would be perfect :D

This is very easy. Call Verona, tell them no Remulo. Then ask the board for that sweet Iturbe money and call Real.

beppe: hola real, yo beppe. me amore isco, 30m?
    real: un momento..isco, juve?
isco: me gusta playing, no madrid bench
    beppe: 4-3-1-2, starting trequartista
    isco:deal
    real: 30m, deal
    beppe:10 installments, pls

    so easy

Yes, because we only scored 102 points with the same team and without the better bench we are building now
better get that attacking mid, in case roma scores 103 points !

Seriously, we have a fantastic squad, and whilst adding a cam/wf is fine, its not mandatory to succeed

this team was build for conte to get past the QF in the CL last season. Lets see if Allegri can do that instead.
Come on, you and I both know that the results we had last season and the first was a lot due to Conte, yes the players we had were still the same, bar Mirko and Quag, and we bought some nice young players with potential. Now this is however is Allegri's first season and we dont know how the players are gonna react with this change in management, we still had a lot of attacking creativity last season still, yes i know we had millions of shots on target and etc, however we really did lack that killer creativity on the final third.

I dont know but Allegri still does not convince me at all, of course only time can tell, but we really needed a creative attacking player even when Conte was in charge as he had planned 4-3-3, now with Allegri and his more favored 4-3-2-1, i think we need that creative attacking midfielder even more.

My hopes has been killed the moment when Conte left.
With Conte we were going to change our set up. Passing from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3. Now with Allegri we're going to play a 4-3-2-1 formation.
So no wingers guys >_>. Coman is mainly a winger... where will he play since we have no LM or RM spot avaible nor RW or LW??!?
I hoped we could sell Llorente (29yrs old) to get a quality winger and switch over but it seems it's just a broken dream now.
If we get a quality COC means we'll sell Vidal and i'd consider this mercato as weakening....... As Vidal is our main man in the middlefield! Our Engine!

We over paid 2-3 players now and have no more funds to buy without selling some BIG player. I'm gutted. We were 2-3 players away to compete with some teams in CL but instead now we getting no where wasting money and probably going to sell one of our assets.
And next year is Pogba's time knowing Raiola.

Pereyra is a good sign but not for 1,5+14+1,5. His price was max 10m.
Morata ? good kid prolly a deal with Real to make him play and grow and then go back to the homebase in Madrid. I know we'll pay 20 to get back 30. But still we used funds TOO MUCH of them on a player whose worth was 12m. All that hoping Real nextyear or year after will take him back.
Sturaro 5,5 + 3,5 bonus in case of (dunno) seems to be over priced as well. Specially cause i don't remember him doing anything worth a mention last year
Romulo 7m a 27yrs old man. Not positive as well for me.

We spent big money and screwed our future mercato again over installements and so on. Now i understand why we can't go for big players. Every year we pay installements for 50-60m! So we're forced to keep going with the cycle of installements.

    Very depressing if you ask.
If you were to ask me 2months ago what would be my ideal mercato i'd tell you: 1 Young quality LEFT BACK 2 Young quality Wingers.
And if i were in Marotta's shoes i would have gone for:
LB one between Marcelo and Coentrao +Evra
LW: Lavezzi would have made me happy or another younger winger for a decent price
    RW: Sanchez

If we did these signatures per time and without making installments or any other crap i bet we could have spent the same as we did today.
    Just my 2 cents

Obviously our strategy was to buy young talented players with a possible "add on" sale value. If it pulls off then great. If not, then it's a case of same old same old.
