Real signing some guy, Coentrao might leave.

Verratti when asked about Juve move: "I have no intention of moving but we are speaking about one of the most serious and ambitious projects in Europe."

true, i would have hoped for a 4-1-4-1 but played in an odd way. sort of like Real.
Or a juggernaut like formation.

I think he meant that PSG will sign a couple of world class midfielders and defenders and dominate Europe. There was no way he meant the most serious and ambitious projects in Europe when implying to Juventus. Cerci and Osvaldo are THE example non-serious.

how is it a downgrade apart from Osvaldo not playing to tire out defenders?
Osvaldo's main task is not to tire defenders, but its one of the things he'll do.

The mentionned formation has 2 relatively weak wingers(defensively speaking), and pirlo, meaning vidal and pogba need to do all the defensive and organisatorial work, severely limiting their offensive runs. Then you get a central attacker who wont win headers in the box, meaning both cerci and nani would have to bring on much of the work, aka cut inside, narrowing the formation, defeating the purlose of wingers. Tevez is alot less potent when beeing lone center forward like this.

of course, if they're weak defensively it's a no go. You need 7 defenders in your line up. I forgot.

You dont need 7 defenders, but you need balance and an excellent organisation. What you forgot to understand is that i offcourse said that vidal and pogba having to mainly focus on defensive and organisatorial work first, isnt neccecarely bad. If they held a 4231 they would aswel, and what a strong and talented holding midfield that would be.

The problem is, that if you take away most of their offensive actions, other players have to fill that in for them. A second problem is that tevez is alot less effective as single striker without support from a CF or a trequartista. So Nani and Cerci would have to eighter put in a ton off defensive work wich would allow more offensive freedom to vidal and pogba, OR they would make up for all this with stupendous offensive end product.

its quite clear, they can do neighter

Tevez
Griezmann Jovetic Cuadrado
Marchisio Vidal
Asamoah Chiellini Barzagli Lichtsteiner
Buffon

OUT:
Pogba ~ € 80m

IN:
Jovetic ~ € 20m
Cuadrado ~ € 25m
Griezmann ~ € 20m
Murru ~ € 0m
Berardi ~ € 8m
= € 73m

Do you people see how far 80m € and a sale of Pogba potentially can get us?

Nobody will offer 80 mil for Pogba. That is media BS.
Jovetic is now worth 10 mil.
Griezmann(my personal wish for next season) will cost at least 30 mil.

Its a dream mercato but only possible on Football manager.

Tevez for € 12m wouldn't be possible in FM. None would predict him to cost us just € 12m!
The "~" mean estimated price. Griezmann could cost us € 27m and Jovetic € 15m, none can tell. If Pogba is leaving he is leaving for € ~80m. We have a budget as well. If that budget holds 30m € you can add that to the sale of Pogba to see these transfer go through. There are so many alternatives to the players I listed, my point is only that a sale of Pogba can upgrade the team as a whole and that we should not go for burnt out players ala Nani, Menez etc.

Speaking about 3-5-2 vs. 4-3-3, does anyone have actual data that shows the difference for each player regarding miles/km´s run, #passes, and etc.?

Or, if anybody knows where I can get that information, I would be happy to do my own analysis and share it with you guys (inlcuding refferences of course).

I know it is difficult to compare historic data for 3-5-2 and 4-3-3 because of difference in starting formation, difference in opponents, and etc., but it will still be more valid than most of all this "IMO" going on in this thread.

This sites are pretty good but they don't show km statistic.

I heard a lot of negative critics about Verratti and I don't get them. The boy is pure brilliance. I guess they don't like his adventurous style, which makes him look like a liability sometimes, when he takes the ball from the keeper and dribbles his way out of his own box, or when he makes a tough and unneeded foul in midfield. Yet that's exactly what makes him so special. He's aggressive and he has guts, on top of his incredible vision and hard work. I've never seen Zlatan praising someone in each opportunity he gets. But Zlatan adores Verratti and he doesn't miss a chance to say how great the little Italian is.
I've seen enough in my life to know that this guy is a future great. I saw Xavi, Pirlo and Iniesta at the beginning of their career and I'll soon see the former duo finish it. That's how I know that we're talking about the same league here.
