Well, do you think it would have been a wise decision to splash the 20-25 million wanted by PSG, when we don't really need a midfielder right now? Not really anything we can do, if we can't get him for free we have to pay, and there are better ways to spend that much money at the moment, though i really rate Rabiot.

(if your post wasn't aimed at that, my fault)

Not only that but lets say we had the money to get him on loan.

Why would he Choose us over Madrid? A city he already lived that speaks his language, playing with some of the best in the world. A CL contender. And with a possible raise in 2 or 3 years. Better league.

Why would he trade all that for Serie A and Italia?

I don't know how we'd get Falcao unless he facilitates it due to preference:

http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2013/01/falcao-opens-door-to-future-serie-a-move/

He clearly has a soft spot for Serie A, and his favourite team is in Italy, maybe he wants to play in Italy...
However, his adopted name "Falcao" is from a player who played for Roma...so bad for us.

That being said why in the world would Falcao accept less money to play for a worse team...
Yeah not happening...

Sunderland basically made a cheap Serie A ultimate team in recent years, and it's failed them badly. Barely avoided relegation

Pretty much pulled a budget version of PSG a couple years ago. Where like 8 or 9 of their starters were fresh out of Serie A.

They sign them and don't even play them (Giaccherini was a bench player).

Honestly though, Serie A players aren't typically suited for the English game. No other country plays football like England. While it may be more exciting at times, in no other environment do teams play that back and forth. I remember when Mancini was playing a more conservative game, he got branded boring. If you compare World Cup football to EPL football, it just shows that in no other league do teams play so wide open. Frankly, Serie A players that go over aren't used to sprinting back and forth over and over again.

Yep it's a big factor. Not to mention a lot of the players teams like Sunderland are signing don't have that great ability, they sign a bunch of scrubs who have been playing strictly in the 'Italian way' for ages with no real ability to help out. Players who barely stay afloat in Serie A are all of a sudden sprinting non-stop and going up against a multitude of pacey wingers with no support as opposed to a 32 year old Wing back

It's also a reason why English teams stink internationally (national team) and tend to get dummied in the UCL despite their massive budgets (unless they adapt their play style like Roberto Di Matteo).
