Well, at least the Neapolitan rats won't get him, as we suspected.

The midfielder will extend his contract at Parc des Princes until 2018, according to his agent Donato Di Campli

Marco Verratti has agreed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, the player's agent has confirmed.
The 20-year-old has long been embroiled in discussions over a new deal, but talks had stalled earlier on this week as Napoli prepared to make the midfielder a "monstrous" offer.
However, speculation over the Italy international's future has now finally been put to bed after his agent revealed the player is set to sign a new deal until 2018.
"The deal is reached with PSG," wrote Donato Di Campli on Twitter.
"Marco Verratti will remain until 2018. The contract signing will occur after his return from the game inGabon."

Until 2018? He'll be pretty expensive come next season, that is if he decides to leave then :boh:

Quags and Matri seem to be getting decent interest from Premier League teams - we could average >EU10m each. I know this is unlikely, but if we managed to sell BOTH, we would have room to use those funds for another top quality striker worth 20-25m.
I wish it was that simple.

First of all,a "top quality" striker, wont sit on the bench, and we arent really making enough turnover to bench such a fee
Second, we can ONLY buy a top quality striker, for the right price, and when 8 other teams arent bidding
Lastly, what 'top quality striker' is on the market, for that price ?

- - - Updated - - -

there is not a single quality striker on the market that costs 25m

minimum will be 30m

guys like negredo and soldado are going for that price. that is the standard minimum price now.
exactly

Yeah, you either go for a Diamanti for ~10m or a 'talent' that could cost anything from about 8-18m depending on where in the world they are from and how highly rated they are.

I know but it started so amazing and it's been boring in the past couple of weeks even Football Italia doesn't had any noticeable 'news' in the past weeks. There probably only two or three top players that'll move this mercato: Suarez, Soldado and Bale.

Buffon
Lichtensteiner-Bonucci-Chiellini-Ogbonna
Vidal-Veratti-Pogba
Marchisio
Tevez-Llorente

Tries so hard to fit Marchisio in the formation :sergio: :wallbang:

Marchisites are so annoying and delusional. Epic fail!

No! It is this sense of entitlement, having him in any potential formation is sacrosanct type attitude. This is what is tremendously irritating and annoying.

Sacrificing Pogba for Verrati tho! :howler: :sergio: Nick really outdid himself there.

Negredo and Soldado - the Osvaldo's of Spanish football.
:agree: Although Soldado and Negredo are somewhat more likable.

Its unclear at this point who's the better player

verratti was known as tremendously talented and potential as early as at the age of 16, and is a starter in a CL quarterfinalist.

Pogba had not much apart from "big talent" going for him before juventus, also CL quarterfinalist, showed immense potential, not a starter, first sub tho

Or how about they hold him in higher regard than you do. It's just as annoying to read the posts of people who don't value his contributions, but oh well.

Verratti only had one season of Serie B before this season. Not that much over Paul. Paul is also competing in a better midfield, in a team and league where youngsters aren't trusted as readily. In fact, he amazed us all by how quickly he became he an important contributor to our team.

Also, Verratti's coach had the pressure of the pricetag, which says that he was always meant to get a lot of playing time from the beginning. While our freebie would have to prove it all in training.

I value Marchisio and his contribution to the team, but Pogba is immensely talented, and if he continues to develop, there is no harm in seeing him displace Marchisio if it is to the benefit of Juventus.

That's what I suspected. Marotta should sell one of Matri/Quags soon and keep listening to offers for the other while seeing if there are any opportunistic transfers out there. Lewandowski has only 1 year left on his contract, there is always the possibility in tempting Dortmund into an early sale with a cheeky 10-15m bid. Sanchez may also come cheap.

But I agree, its extremely unlikely.

Also bear in mind, most Champions league contenders tend to have 3 world class strikers on their books as there are PLENTY of matches. If Juve had Tevez, Llorente and Lewandowski for instance, they would all get plenty of games.

I agree. Verratti will surely be our #1 transfer target next summer. We're probably now in a position where we can make one, or at most two. Huge signings per window and then leave it at that. And Verratti is the best possible Pirlo replacement there is.
Not worth 12m

Overvalued.

Overpriced.

Some unknown youngster with "potential" and "hype".

Dime a dozen.

Do.Not.Want.

Delusional? People who have him in their lineups are more grounded in reality than those who don't.
I love you.

This craze on Veratti remind me of the craze the forum had on Cassano. We have missed the shipped for Veratti, get over it. We cant afford his wages especially with the agent he is having now.

And its unfair to judge Pogba , over how Raiola deals with his clients. Not all will react the same.
