If Hernanes doesnt extend his contract which expires in 2015,i think he can be an ideal Pirlo replacement come next summer(2014).

I wish we can sign Verratti but get over it guys ,he's soon going to be too expensive for us sadly.

Any other overhyped, young, non Italian player.
Wrong!

For a player with 'huge potential', I think €20m is very good.

What player would you lose sleep over missing out on?
Probably none.

I was rather disappointed that we missed out on JoJo, and in future if Suarez/Reus become available and we have the conditions in place to sign them, I'd be sad if we missed out on them :D

The biggest task for the board would be how to plan Post-Pirlo come next summer(2014)

If Hernanes doesnt sign for PSG this year,i can see us snapping him up in 2014.

Pogba

Hernanes----------Vidal

Marchisio would become a rotation option assuming we dont sell both Pogba and Vidal anytime soon and sign this guy.Lets face it,Pogba gives us a lot of options and hence why we shouldnt worry about losing out on DLP's like Verratti(even if i want him so badly here cos it will set us for years with him).Just tweak the system and play a DM in front of the defense, with a Box 2 Box mid and a creative CM flanking him.Job done.

It's also entirely possible that we'll "simply" move toward formations that aren't dependent on the Pirlo type registas, which are kind of a dying breed.

The future/present seems to be something like holding midfielders that can play a bit of which we've got a prime example in Pogba.

Ljajic or Nani
Matuidi or Eriksen (in which formation)
Ansaldi or Zuniga (or both and sell some shitload)
Sakho or Musacchio

Done without spending money. Than spend all the budget on one worldclass striker & one promissing youngster.

Christian Eriksen is a great playmaker.... he would be a nice pirlo replacement.
1. Totally different type of player positionally.
2. Not close to Pirlo's level when it comes to tactical awareness.
3. Excels in open spaces of which there is little in Italy as a whole and Juventus particularly.
4. Absolutely adores Spanish football and its derivatives.
5. Physically underdeveloped - lacks stamina to a degree that's almost criminal at this point.
6. Doesn't take control of games.

I wouldn't say no for free or at a cut price but he's certainly not a player I'd bank on as a "Pirlo replacement".

I'm pretty sure he averaged the most running in the Champions League last season

Hernanes is not a Pirlo replacement. Hernanes is more of an attacking midfielder or a playmaker. We wont get him and enough of this pirlo replacement. It is way too hard to find one. It is probably easier to just play a formation without a dpl.

Like many others I would've thought Dortmund was the perfect option for him. A good step up in both league and team quality without it being too much, a change in culture and mentality that's bearable at his age, a playing style that would offer him space and movement and a club that is known for being fair about transfers.

Sadly won't happen with them getting that Armenian fulla.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if he were to choose Serie A - even in the shape of Milan or Roma - instead of the obvious La Liga or Premier League options. It would be a huuuuuge scoop for the league's status as he has been touted as an upcoming globally sought after talent for years.

Don't think it will happen though.
