With Marotta anything can happen. We stopped Alex from renewing his contract and and treated Camo and Trez like shit when Ale and Trez still had a lot to give the team. Licht is on demand and we need money so its not that far fetched that we'd sell one of our key players be it licht, vidal or marchisio if the right offer comes.

I was wondering why you can see it happen. You don't believe any rumour that circulates, do you?
I love Lichtsteiner, his heart, his passion and his aggressiveness on the field and I don't want to see him go.

The reasons on why I think he could be leaving this summer:

- Conte wants to be able to switch to a 3-5-2 and a 4-3-3 on the fly. Licht can't play as a RW. He could be sold and someone like Cuadrado who could play both RWB and RW, may come in.

- Last summer there were strong rumours that Licht may leave. Particularly strong interest from PSG. If the right offer from Bayern or PSG came in, I could see Marotta cashing in.

I'm skeptical on the rumour, but you never know.

I hope you're wrong because there are not so many players like him at his position...
Lichsteiner is fantastic player and it would be difficult to find someone better I think.
I don't really know Cuadrado but he seems ok. But is he really an upgrade ?

The purchase of Cuadrado isn't the issue, it's the purchase of the other 50% of Isla. I don't see the club purchasing that half and selling the player that has been fit and playing well all season. Pepe will still be around for the right wing spot.

In that case, where we should try to get a wingback that could also play just as a wing is on the left. 'cause if we stat with 3 at the back, the one that can be used as a RB/LB is Chiellini, using him on the LB would left Bonucci and Barzagli as CB, with a RB spot yet to fill with Lichtsteiner. Asamoah can't play on the LB and I don't think he would be different on the LW. So, he should be the one we were trying to improve with someone who could work as a LWB and LW.

In the hypothetical case that we end up only with Sánchez and Llorente upfront, I'd be something like this:

Buffon
Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini
Lichtsteiner-Vidal-Pirlo-Marchisio-Asamoah
Sánchez-Llorente

then swicht on the fly to 4-3-3

Buffon
Lichtsteiner-Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini
Vidal-Pirlo-Marchisio
Sánchez-Llorente-Asamoah

See? It makes a whole lot more sense :agree:

Corchia for the right side, Digne for the left side and the problem is solved.
Then Suarez for the offensive line + one young talent (Berardi?) and it's all done.

One more thing. Do you think we really tried or are going to try Cavani ? Is it realistic (not only the amount of this transfer, but the fact that the relationship between Napoli and us is not that good...) ?

I see what you mean. Just that wouldn't work because we'll most likely field Vucinic/Giovinco. They are both SS/LW type players, and in the case we shift from a 3-5-2 to a 4-3-3, they could easily slot into the LW position.

Cuadrado - Llorente - Vucinic
>
Sanchez - Llorente - Asamoah

Asamoah would be played completely out of position.

There's no way we're tossing Vucinic & Giovinco out of the picture.

Absolutely no way.

Manchester City, Chelsea, PSG, etc. will offer way more money then us, and De Laurentiis would never sell a player of Cavani's calibre to us.

PSG have reportedly signed Cavani for 63M. Leonardo came out said they are not interested in Cavani, but you never know.
