Pogba could fill in for Marchisio and vidal and if Poli is coming in the summer then we have another player who could back Marchisio or Vidal up. Verratti is a very promising talent obviously and Pirlo isnt getting any younger. Also Pirlo cant play everygame therefore we need a back up and Verratti looks like the only player capable of replacing him.
What I find hilarious is this:
People hail Marotta for his low spending habits and building a great team (which I agree with, obviously) but it also looks like some of those same people have no problem bashing other clubs for trying to do the same...running a tight & well budgeted business/operation.
It's ok for us to do it...but not others.
On the flip side, when we try and sell our trash players and other clubs aren't willing to meet our asking price they either attack Marotta for failing to sell our fringe players...yet, more abuse to the other clubs for not meeting the price of what we want for our players.
So, why not bash your own SD for failing to offload the players at "daylight robbery" prices, yet insult other clubs for doing the exact same thing?

Fuck! 6 pages of Verratti
He's good, but he isn't the best thing since sliced bread. We aren't talking Zidane here; it's Verratti ffs! If we lose out on him, I won't be losing any sleep for sure

Note how "superior" is subjective and does not mean most expensive, best known, etc. And best players does not mean best team.

Of course it doesn't have to mean more expensive, or more renowned, but I'd be willing to bet my apartment that we'd have a higher chance of winning the CL and securing the Serie A crown more comfortably with a front duo of Suarez and Cavani.
Look at teams like Barca, Bayern, Madrid, and even United. There's a reason they are favoured in most competitions. It's important to have fringe players, depth off the bench, but guys like RVP, Messi, and Ronaldo increase your profile and give you a major boost in winning titles
Agree with Jay.Veratti is someone we should be looking to sign in 2014 and not in the coming summer.Next year is going to be the WC year.Pirlo ideally would want to play as much as possible,he's still got 1-2 good seasons to offer at the highest level.Veratti himself would have ambitions of making the WC squad i reckon ,provided Carlo stays at PSG and with Motta's persistent injury problems,think he would be getting more playtime at PSG than at Juve if i'm being honest here.
Besides i'm not one for splashing most of the budget on a Pirlo backup.Attack needs to be improved.Lets not knee-jerk on a couple of good performances from our existing strikers.A few bad performances in the coming games and you guys would all be calling for their heads.They are not consistent enough ,ofcourse i'd be happy and glad if i'm proven wrong but i still remain unconvinced.
