Two Scenarios, what do you prefer?
Assuming that we are getting 2 CB's, FW, LWB sub, Pirlo's sub.

1. Getting Belfodil/Muriel for 12m, Verratti for 14m, Diakite for free, Sorensen for 5m, Kolarov for 12m. = 43m, very doable.

2. Getting Sanchez for 25m/Jovetic for 20/25 + player, Poli/Obiang half for ~ 4m, Diakite for free, Sorensen for 5m, Kolarov for 12m. = 46m, doable.
2. Getting Sánchez, Obiang, Diakité, Sørensen, and Kolarov

If we'll get Kolarov we won't need Obiang, even though he's amazing. Asamoah will be vise Kolarov and vise vidal.

Oh and the opposite BTW. It's either Kolarov or Obiang, we are not City and we should watch our finances carefully.

Perhaps the first time I have completely disagreed with one of the handful of members who regularly post common sense and sound football observation.

We are exceptional with our first choice of CBs and GK and CMs and L/RWB. We are far from exceptional with any starting combination of our present forwards.

A serious challenger/substitute for Asamoah would be welcome.
Caceres is a top class sub for any CB position. Marrone has shown he can also play there competently and surely will only improve with more experience in the role. Lichsteiner is easily our strongest defensive right flank player and he ain't half bad going forward either, forcing the issue often enough to make more good than bad happen in the final third. Pogba is growing into the rough outline of a world class talent, for his age, and what he is already achieving.

All of the following don't seem out of place in a squad challenging to return as a continental force, not just domestic powerhouse alongside napoli (who are likely to be weakened dramatically when Cavani leaves in the Summer...but who would come in his place?? They will have champions league football, fervent support, colourful history, solid team, passionate city)

Buffon
Chiellini
Bonucci
Barzagli
Lichsteiner
Caceres
Asamoah
Pogba
Vidal
Pirlo
Marchisio
Isla
Llorente
Marrone
Matri

I'd have no problem seeing any of the following leave the club, if superior replacements came in their place, even at the cost of two of these guys for one better player-
Giovinco, Vucinic, Quagiarella, Giaccherini, Padoin, Peluso.

I'm of the opinion that we have the nucleus of a very stront, eager and well knit squad. With most of our forward line and the utility men falling foul of the line of quality drawn by the others. Simone pepe I am presently unwilling to put in either camp. he was damn useful last season, and he still could be this season, but in what position??? he needs to play wide in a 4-3-3. I guess that would give Isla the chance to play in his mor natural role. Pepe-Matri-Isla could be fun.

Our attack is the weakest department in our squad.
Hey, I'm not saying Juve shouldn't be looking to upgrade their attack further.

My point is that, with Llorente, it's pretty good.

That means there is no real pressure on to go flailing around taking chances on people who are a major gamble (Belfodil, Muriel).

Go for a really good player, if the opportunity presents itself, but it would hardly be disastrous for Juve to go into next season with Vucinic and Giovinco as the main SS options.

I think getting Verratti over here when Pirlo is still around is very important. Verratti is a fantastic player and very similar to Pirlo. He would make the decline of Pirlo much easier for us.

Definitely, he'd improve greatly by training with him daily & getting tips from the maestro.

what makes anything think Verratti would come here after just signing for a major cash cow in Paris?

So, people hailed his move to PSG for "snubbing" Juve and suddenly he became overpriced and overrated.

How long until people in the majority wish they had him here?

He's still young, he'd need regular games to keep a spot in the national team. PSG doesn't guarantee that & best you believe PSG will be signing more big name players making it harder for Verratti to do his thing. Also take into account how well Pogba's doing & the fact that he's getting some decent playing time, why wouldn't he join us, money aside?
