He's still young, he'd need regular games to keep a spot in the national team. PSG doesn't guarantee that & best you believe PSG will be signing more big name players making it harder for Verratti to do his thing. Also take into account how well Pogba's doing & the fact that he's getting some decent playing time, why wouldn't he join us, money aside?
What makes you think Ancelotti doesn't have 100% faith in this kid and would seek better players?

PSG wont sell Veratti.Atleast as long as Carlo is there,he is looking to build a midfield for the future comprising of Veratti-Matuidi in the pivot ala Pirlo-Gattuso in his Milan days while for the time being Motta plays instead of him since he's more experienced and offers better defensive support in 2 man midfield but Carlo has clear ideas as it seems and i'm sure he would eventually take over from Motta considering the fact that he's an injury prone player too.Plus he's on a long term contract. We had our chance last summer, but we f*cked it up big time penny pinching for a matter of a few million euros(I'm sure Society members would find some stupid reasoning to defend their God here as well).Although there could be some shade of hope if Carlo gets sacked and PSG go for Mou.But who is to say that Mou would actually force out a genuine talent like Veratti.

what makes anything think Verratti would come here after just signing for a major cash cow in Paris?

So, people hailed his move to PSG for "snubbing" Juve and suddenly he became overpriced and overrated.

How long until people in the majority wish they had him here?
That totally depends on how Marrone plays when Pirlo starts to fade out and whether Verratti is still the Juve fan some people claimed he was.

Medicore? based on what?

The 4-5 matches he gets per year?

the one game he did substandard that he was actually allowed to play in his natural role...which hasn't been since last year. That's probably what they base it on.

He earns about 1.5M€ per year, if this is right, can't we offer him 2M€? :shifty:
Take into account how much Pogba is being paid. I doubt we would shell out 2.0m euros on Veratti. PSG...one of richest clubs in the world is only paying him 1.5m euros...you think we would trump that?

Well, if we stop trying to teach Marrone CB roles and actually give him PT time in his natural role instead, then we could get a better guage.

he might be mediocre, he might not be. The worrying thing is that he is 24 soon 25 and we have absolutely no idea of what it's going to be with him. That might well be because we have a very fit Pirlo in the team, but I doubt anyone here can honestly claim to feel 100% at ease with the thought that Marrone is going to replace Pirlo.

He is 22 years old. :D

I just hope we'll loan him out, so he can play to grow, because i know he has the talent.

I have no idea why I was under the impression that he was 24. :S

I hope he gets loaned out too, not because I know that he has the talent but because I want to see if he has it. What I don't want is you and Hustini in every thread asserting that he is the real deal - he has done nothing to indicate that. He's shown glimpses of glory, but hardly enough to form an opinion.

I actually like Marrone in the libero role. Sure he can improve, but sometimes I feel like I'm watching a different game when people criticize him harshly.

Conte prefers him more as a libero than a midfielder. I can see him growing into that position quite well.

I'm concerned because he doesn't have a trace of aggressiveness to his defending. His positioning is excellent, but he can't really tackle. If they can teach him that he can become good, if not he will always be a liability for the odd shot that gets past his marking.
