Time will tell. I think Matri has an advantage of being a similar type of striker as Llorente, and that he may be seen as backup to Llorente. If we do pounce for an SS in the summer transfer window; Jovetic or Sanchez etc. - I think it's gonna be Quag who's gonna go.

@Jem83 what's the right price for someone like Diamanti ??
Hard to answer. Depends if other clubs come in for him as well. What sucks is that he signed a 5-year deal last season, so he's on a pretty lengthy contract. Two factors that could push the price down a bit is him being almost 30 and hopefully he'd be pushing for Bologna to let him go to Juve. The latter part is important; we would have the upper hand then.

We have developed a good relationship with Bologna over the past years, but merda wants him too, bidding war?

But lets not kid ourselves, Diamanti is mediocre and not an upgrade or what we need at this point.

Diamati is an average 30 years old player, playing for Bologna, he's not worth 10 mil. 5 mil probably is a fair price.
I agree hombre, but I'd imagine negotiating for a player that has a year left on his contract and one that has 5 years left are two different cases and shouldn't be compared to each other.

I'd say let him stay where he is, Diamanti isn't a Pepe-replacement at all. Pepe's task in the 4-3-3 was to add width and he was an energetic runner that kept the structure well when defending, although he wasn't good at defending. Diamanti is left footed and in a 4-3-3 he'll drift inside I guess.

10 mln for Diamanti :sergio:
.
You guys should already notice one thing. Attacking player playing in weaker side than Juve, will be weaker at Juve. Matri from Cagliari is better than Matri from Juve, so Giovinco from Parma. Even Boriello is scoring at the Genoa! And of course everybody saw Amauri hat-trick. And some of you will be happy with giving 10 mln (near price given for Giovinco) for 30 years old Diamanti? He is Giaccherini of attack.

I know, just wanted to point how someone as talented as Ozil, with huge amount of potential, playing for one of Bundesliga strongest team at the time, went for as much as 14 mil, whereas some " fans " here think 10 mil is a fair price for Diamanti who plays for Bologna and will be dying for the chance to play for Juve, wich means we should have the upper hand when negociating, Diamanti could be signed for a life time contract for all i care, it doesn't mean his price will go up.

:agree: We have enough depth.
