Rather than banging our heads against the wall with Cavani, RVP and Higuain, I'd rather see us hijack Giroud's deal with Arsenal. Accomplishes so many things for us. We get an up and coming true centre forward that provides a lot of presence in the box while not being a lazy or slow cunt like Amuari/Boriello. We piss off Wenger who's a piece of shit. We save some dosh, as he he's not expensive as shit and has a decent release clause. We get to pretend that we get a new Treze.

Then we sell Matri, Quag, Elia, Krasic and the rest of the deadwood and buy Destro and get Immobile back.

Vucinic, Giroud, Giovinco, Destro, Immobile, Pepe, Giaccherini. Perfectly realistic and balanced attack option for next year.

Deal with it, nerds. :D

you are making the huge assumption that we want to go far in CL. I on the other hand all that is asked of Conte is to get past teh group stages and qualify for CL again.
I think that is the dream of everyone.

Realistically speaking, the goal right now would get out of the group statges and the first knock out round.

Baby steps, people.

Baby steps.

I am not making that assumption, but we want to be as competetive as we can be fighting on two fronts, CL being most vital venue to prove ourselves a bit, and we wouldnt even be trying, just being lazy, if the only signing we make to improve our scoring prowess is a rookie in Destro.

not laziness id say risk aversion, with the squad we have currently, without destro, do we yes or no have a good shot at CL spot and getting out of the CL group stages?

I honestly dont understand why we arent after Giroud,a very complete striker(In the Van Persie mold) and coming back off a marvelous season in Ligue Un(His stats are great for a physical and defensive league like Ligue 1)..Reasonable buyout clause and reports suggest he is completing a 12m pound move to Arsenal..Thats reasonable as hell ,now if Marotta ends up overpaying for someone like Mandzukic who i dont rate that highly(plus has poor stats to back up my claim) i really would be furious.

Wenger said Giroud is 90 % an Arsenal player. Its all but a done deal imo.

It depends on the group, but it would be foolish to go into CL without improving our main and almost only weakness, our strikers ability to finish consistently. We have added to rest of our squad very nicely so far, but defenitely naive to go into next season, not just CL, without any prima punta to rely on.

Can we stop talking about Mandzukic? Buying him wouldn't upgrade our attack at all. I would rather buy those young Italians and hope for the best, then buy some average player who scored 12 goals in Germany.

I know, that frustrates me as well, especially because we don't seem to have enough to buy a big name.

We don't know if we don't have enough. Just because we haven't closed someone before market has really gotten going, doesn't me we won't. But we also don't HAVE to fork out stupid money either. €40M for RVP would be stupid but so would like €15M for that Croatian nerd.

15m for Lewandowski sounds good. Younger, better and already accomplished something. I actually think this may be Marottas and Contes plan if they fail Cavani/RvP/Higuain which already had happened, it seems.

I would definitely love to see Robert come here who i rate very highly..But i think BVB value him a bit more than that at 20m +..

Giroud is available for less than 20 and i think he'd be a perfect for our system and style of play too.But there's no point discussing over this as i believe he is an Arsenal player already.
