What this Jovetic talk i all about is not whether or not he should/would be utilized as CF - it's about a potential world class player who is about to leave Fiorentina - and to clubs we could never live with him ending up in. Merda etc..

Jovetic could be a temporary solution to out lack of goals. I stated that his statistics proved him as a fantastic goalscorer and that whether he plays as CF or not. Just because we have a frontline of three (in a 4-3-3) the mid player isn't necessarily a CF!? If the market is dry at the moment, the only suitable CFs available cost way too much/or they are not the ones we need then I say it's stupid to buy just to buy. We're on a tight budget anyway and splashing 30m € for a 28-year-old Torres is just an act of panic!! There are still multiple interesting targets on the market but if we need more players to balance this team we can't afford a 35-40m € striker!

Jovetic is young and available. He proved he can net the ball - even without the best teammates. He could be the one star striker/mr x/top deal this mercato. CF or SS. Messi is no CF either - he's just a magically goalscorer...

Jovetic + Lewandowski is possible.

Jovetic for 12 Million + Gio, and Lewandowski for 18-20 Million Euros. The total outlay is 30+ Million Euros, close to the outlay/money we are willing to spend on a top CF.

Perhaps. Verratti is very promising.
No way.. Verratti will become very good but Modric is third best in his position..

Pirlo > Xavi > Modric for registas.. Verratti is promising not class yet..

Nzoric, Bianconero_Aus, etc.

My responses were mainly directed towards them.

We're in agreement, then.
Errmmm...read my post again. I didnt say he should be our CF signing, I said, if we cant get a CF (Cavani, Higuain, RVP whoever), I would defnitely be down with just signing Jovetic anyway as our DP replacement. He would be a fantastic signing and has the potential to be one of the best players in the world, we'd be stupid not to try sign him if given the chance.

People tend to forget what kind of payer Suarez really is. Suarez is a second striker just like Jovetic/Giovinco but he is a few years older then Jovetic and therefore better in front of goals as experience has made him more clinical. Suarez was kind of a risk for Liverpool when they signed him for 25m € in Ajax as well. (I know he was top class in Ajax but still - so is JoJo in Viola atm!)

I think it's kind of stupid to claim we'll sign a top CF, obviously in the heavy end of the 20 million €s. Why add a big name when you can add a very promising name like Lewandowski instead?

TBH Id rather have Lewandowski then Torres even if Lewandowski was more expensive..

I'm a fan of Lewandowski , but that's just :dielaugh: another bold statement from you.
Really? Well. Just because Torres was top class in Liverpool doesn't mean he's top class now. Do you think he is? And no, it's not a bold statement. At least I can argue..

Lewandowski is 23. Low wages. Second most scoring player in the bundesliga.

Torres? Well he's just a big name on a big contract that's all..
