I've watched him several times and when he played as a CF with Fiorentina, he wasn't good. His best games were when he played off Amauri or Gilardino. he's just not that kind of player, he can't lead the line.

We need a proven goalscorer like Dzeko who can break provincial defences.

Imagine all the missed oportunities with Borriello, Matri and Quag.

I want Jovetic. No doubt. But I also want a better striker than Matri.

I just hope Juventus' board will make the necessary funds available to sign both Jovetic and a striker (I wouldn't mind a younger player).

He had to play in a more forward role last season. Fiorentina had nothing in attack last year. It was all on him. He can score goals. Yes, he's not your prototypical CF, but that is because his talents on the field are more than that of your typical CF. He led the attack. He was the one who was not only building up the play , but finishing as well.

I agree that he is not a CF, but he is a fantastic talent, who can score goals as well.

You probably didn't read the post properly but I'll bite. Messi plays as a fake 9, something he convinced Guardiola would work which lead to Zlatan getting the can. It was a bit of a revolution - probably only possible because of the insane support he has and because he's football baby fucking jesus.

But it's not like people haven't caught on to it. Both Real and Chelsea fucked that system up in consecutive weeks and Spain have struggled somewhat in this tourney against teams they should beat. Only looking really dangerous when they got Torres in to provide some urgency and direct running.

if pepe or vucinic were 20 plus goal scoreres a season then the need for a Cf would not be so neccessary

And he was not very good at it. He needs to play off a CF in order to be optimally effective. It's not rocket science, he's just not that type of player. Yes, he is a fantastic talent but we should sign someone like Dzeko first.
