Tuttosport:Hamburg would be thinking of asking Iaquinta on loan and ready to pay half of his €3m wages he currently earns at Juventus..Marotta evaluates the offer.

Thats good, because he is anyway banned from football and locked at Vinovo alongside Martinez. So any wage drop for us is pleasant.

Juventus swoop for Maicon?
By Football Italia staff

In a shock twist, Tuttosport claims Juventus will swoop for Inter’s Douglas Maicon if Stephan Lichtsteiner joins PSG.

Carlo Ancelotti this week denied the rumours Lichtsteiner was in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain for a €15m move, but the rumours continue to swirl around the Italian and French media.

The surprise this morning from Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport is the claim that Maicon has been targeted as his replacement.

It would be a remarkable twist, though more plausible after Juventus signed his former Inter teammate Lucio on a free transfer.

Maicon’s contract expires in June 2013 and the Brazilian is thought to be on the market, but so far the links have been with PSG and Chelsea.

The Nerazzurri are eager to be rid of his €4m per season wages, although further reinforcing their Scudetto rivals would be seen as a sign of weakness in the eyes of the fans.

Coach Andrea Stramaccioni commented on Maicon’s future after last night’s 3-0 friendly win over Bisertin.

“In my view Maicon is the best in the world, but obviously there are different evaluations to be made, as there is more than just fondness or monetary value.

“All of Inter cares about the Brazilian, as he is a fantastic lad. We’ll have to see what happens.”

That Maicon rumour is another example of journalists putting 2 + 2 together and getting 5

They assume because PSG are apparently interested in Licht and that Strammacioni wants to get rid of Maicon, that we'd automatically go for Maicon. Isn't the whole point of us supposedly wanting to sell Licht because he's a RB and not an RM/RW, so what the fuck would be the point of replacing him with another RB? Esp considering Maicon is on big wages and his form is declining rapidly.

Just more journalistic garbage.

But where did this come from? Some journalist thought that we don't need him if we play 352?
He's good at that formation too and would be first option for a 4-3-3.

I dont think we are playing a 3-5-2 in the CL against teams like Bayern, Chelsea, RM and City who use wingers unlike Serie A. Licht will be vital for us in the CL.
