Barzagli is our best defender right now with Lichsteiner. I don't know why people are excluding him from their starting elevens. Chiellini I think has the capabilities to be the best Italian fullback but he needs time to adjust his game to the LB position.

CM backup, attacking winger, big name striker, Giovinco.
Hummels: 20 mil €
Montolivo: Free
Ramirez: 10 mil € + youngster
Giovinco: 5 mil € + 2 youngsters
Jovetic: 30 mil €
= 65 mil €
We also sell Melo for 10 mil € and Elia for 5 mil € and Krasic for 15 mil €.
Net spend: 35 mil €
And we are a great team once again:

Jovetic Matri Vucinic

Can you not see that LB is not Chiellini's best position. Right now, priority is LB. Also another CM if we keep playing 4-3-3 and RB backup. Buy:

-Giaccherini €4m (good depth)
-Ramirez €8m
-Estigarribia €3m

I see 3 key short/long term problems with our squad at the moment.
1) Defense. Ideally we need a center back and a left back.
2) Too many wingers relative to central mids. Conte is favoring the 433 now and with Vucinic occupy one of the flanks, we effectively have 5 wingers (Krasic, Elia, Giacch, Esti and Pepe) fighting for 1 spot and we have 4 central mids for 3 spots. This will have to change.
3) Del Piero will leave after this year. Quags does not seem favored by Conte so only Vucinic and Matri are likely to stay with Amauri, Iaquinta and Toni 100% sure to leave.
On number 1. SPEND big here. Get Hummels (young and very good) and Kolarov. Those 2 players will cost us around EU35m. We should sell Bonucci for around 10m - sell Motta for 3m, and our net spend here is close to EU20m. We should just loan a deputy right back for next season.
On number 2. I would go for someone like Nani for 30m. Man U is interested in Krasic (market value 15m) and I think we will probably end up selling Elia (market value ~10m). See if we can finally get rid of Martinez for 5m and use that money on securing Giovinco. Net spend here would be EU5-10m and our wingers would be: Nani, Giovinco, Pepe & Giaccherini. 4 wingers is enough. Meanwhile, Gala will probably exercise their right to buy Melo for 13m and we should get Montolivo on a free - he would be good because he is a Pirlo sub but can also play alongside him (as seen for the national team) and he has different characteristics to Vidal, Marchisio & Pazienza. Given that Montolivo is free and we get 13m from Melo, our total net spend for the midfield is actually ZERO.
On number 3. My guess is Quagliarella will be sold for around 10m. Iaquinta and Toni might get us 5m in total (Amauri away on a free). I would go for Van Persie at 30m as DP's replacement. Forwards for next season would be: Vucinic, Matri, V.Persie + Giovinco. We may Keep Toni as our 5th striker. In any case, our net spend here would be ~20m.
In the end the net spend would be around 40m but we would have a substantially improved squad in my view.
