dede is great and young, the best defender in brazil.

I don't think he's going to leave vasco right now. their fans love him (they call him the terminator lol), vasco dont want to sell and he already rejected a move to benfica, but it looks like hes co-owned by vasco and a company (ability) and ability is willing to sell their half for 5mil euro

Buffon
Lichtsteiner-Rhodolfo-Chiellini-De Ceglie
Krasic-Vidal-Pirlo-Elia
Matri/Quag-Vucinic

Not bad, my biggest concern is De Ceglie. Hopefully, he will step up because if he doesn't, we're fucked.
whats the matter, you ppl are not pleased with our great signing Zeglier anymore?

Funny cause when i was saying that we should rather sign a free striker for the 7th striker choice instead of the 15mil Vucinic and should rather spend that sum on our pathetic left flank, everybody was arguing that Zeglier is a great player, finally the man who will solve our long long term LB issues...

he was decent, not great, and an improvement over what we had.

what conte does with it is his decision, but it wont be long before he'll ditch de ceglie and get ziegler to prove his worth

de ceglie wont make 6 months without a season ending injury anyway.

i dont like how conte uses only a fraction of the team, and blocks out everyone else, not giving others a chance to prove themselves.

and i dont consider preseason training "proof"

Has anyone kept count of the number of deals/talks/negotiations that have collapsed this mercato? It has to be some sort of record to not have got a majority of the players we've been linked to? And to have settled for third and fourth choice options in all our critical areas. Somebody at the club is seriously incompetent. Somebody at the club is seriously confused. And somebody at the club is going to get a hurt real bad.

What makes you think they are likely to stay. If Bonucci stays, we will still get Rhodolfo I think - but we won't get Alves. If Pepe stays we may still get A winger like Elia if we manage to sell Amauri. Amauri is supposedly worth EU6m and Elia worth 8m.

I don't get our managment/Marotta,we ready to pay 14mil on Perotti but not ready to pay 11 on Elia?
or bid more than 8 for Rhodolfo?

fuck it,we running out of time, and can't close a damn deal...

P.S
Pepe looks like staying.
Grosso will back up DC.
Storari links to be sold.
Pasquato/Sorensen loaned out.

Will we make anything right these last days of mercato?
DISAPPOINTING.

We will all know for sure in the next 60 hours when the window closes. Our speculation will soon be over.

If Elia is our big name left winger then I will be a little dissapointed - although it is looking increasingly likely that he will be.

Rhodolfo doesn't look like a bad signing for around 8m. An Alves-Bonucci swap looks like a no brainer.

The one thing I will say about this mercato is that the money spent on defense was the key. Lichsteiner, Rhodolfo and a potential Alves-Bonucci swap would have probably meant that we spent around half of our budget on propping up the defense which is the right thing. If you look back at last season - that was clearly the area that needed fixing the most.

Central midfield didn't end up costing much in net terms because Pirlo was free, we sold Sissoko for 7m. We spent 13m for Vidal - so thats net 6m and we got 1.5m for the loan of Melo and could get another 10m next year for him.....so in net terms we hardly spent anything on central midfield but arguably there is more quality with Vidal and Pirlo - question as to whether its a balanced formation or not.

Wings? Until now, we have spent nothing really. Giaccherini was only 3m and Estigarribia is a cheap loan. If we can successfully get a top class winger and sell Pepe - we basically wouldn't have spent anything. In fact, even if we caved in to Fiorentina and paid the EU15m they are asking for Vargas, we will probably get close to 10m from Zenit for Pepe. So no real money spent there.

Attack? Vucinic? Meh. Not a bad signing but not a great one either.

If we get Alves, Rhodolfo and Elia I can't say it was a bad transfer campaign considering how much we spent. Our budget for the YEAR I think was EU50m NET. Based on these transfers....our net spend would be far less than that. This keeps our powder dry for the January transfer window. If we can go into the January transfer window being in the top 3......some big clubs that got knocked out of Europe may be tempted to sell some players.....that could be an opportunity to complete the squad.

BUT it all depends on the next 60 hours

Well to be honest, he isn't AS bad as some of you say. Yes last season was not good at all. 15m for Bonucci and 12m for Martinez were plainly bad business. Krasic, Storari, Quagliarella and Matri were decent transfers the Aquilani loan was not a bad idea. Not great but not AS bad as you say.

This year? Vidal, Pirlo, and Lichsteiner were good transfers. Vucinic so so (but you can't call that a bad deal either). Giaccherini and Esti are not serious transfers - more about squad completion and they cost us very little. Time will tell on Rhodolfo. But to be honest, if the Alves-Bonucci swap works out on decent terms then its looking like a decent transfer campaign to be fair. Left wing is proving to be VERY difficult......I would rather he just go and get Vargas for 15m and sell Pepe to Zenit.....Fiorentina only want cash and they want 15m which is a lot for Vargas but under the circumstances, I wouldn't mind overpaying 5m for him if it means selling Pepe for 10m.
