Sorry mate, but I cant see any flaws in Mascherano tbh. In my book he is one of the best players in Europe in his position, a top class player, treasure for any team, even this magical Barcelona we see in last years.
Impossible to argue about that, Mascherano is WC and that is obvious. I only meant that Mascherano as well has the ability to cause needless free kicks and can be way too aggressive. However, since the move to Barca he has improved on these, according to me, flaws. I'm not saying a defensive player shouldn't be aggressive or destructive but earlier he was a bit overly... excited? If Macho would arrive we would play 4-3-3, right?

If Macho and Keita (who has been rumoured to leave) leaves Barca, who is Busquets replacement if he's unable to play?

Oh snap!

Buffon
Licht-Alex-Chiellini-PDC
Vidal-Pirlo-Mascherano
Krasic-Quag-Vucinic

That team would seriously bitchslap a lot of opponents. I doubt Masch would come to us or that we'd play 4-3-3, but damn.

:agree:

Though it will most likely only take a day or so until Masch's agent comes out saying he's 100% staying at Barca, or something similar, I'm afraid.

masch wwould definitely be awesome to have, but the really attractive part of that lineup is that sexy front line, i am convinced quag's presence brings the best out of krasic and if vucinic is left one on one with his marker then its trouble. Sooner or later we will turn to 4-3-3 i just hope we ll have the midfield balnace to pull it off then

Yup. Pace, creativity, skill on the ball. That front line would definitely disrupt plenty of defences.

If we have 4-3-3 on our mind, we definitely need another midfielder of certain quality, there's no doubt about that. I'm fairly sure we will focus on a CB and LW and call it a day though, which could leave us in trouble if that 442 doesn't work out as well in real life as it does in Conte's mind.

Oh boy.

I really suspect this Mascherano rumour arises from them buying Cesc, so it's possibly nonsense.

Even if Conte is more flexible than Delneri, I don't think he'll change the 4-4-2/4-2-4 scheme he has been using during all the pre-season's into 4-3-3.

Vidal + Pirlo + Mascherano = Scudetto

No other team, could beat us with that midfield. Unfortunately I don't buy this story for one minute. Masch is staying at Barca.

The one weakness with a coach like Conte or Del Neri, is they think about a formation and choose the players. Its better to get the best players and let the formation work around those players. Tactical diversity is also important....if later we like to switch to a 4-3-3 we need another quality mid and Pazienza is not what I call a great starter.....we only have Vidal, Pirlo and Marchisio....any one of them not available and we lose lots of quality in a 433.

Krasic can't defend...he is better at attacking on the right.....he would play better in a 4-3-3. Vucinic would be best in a 4-3-3, Pirlo would be best in a 4-3-3 etc.

Vidal-Pirlo-Mascherano would be heaven and we could have Marchisio and Pazienza on the bench. That wouldn't be bad at all.

In fact......if you play with that kind of team, you could still opt for a player like Bastos who is equally adapt at playing as a winger or left back. If Mascherano costs even EU20m and Bastos 15m, Alex 10m we would truly have a starting X1 that is scudetto material. Our total gross spend would be just over EU80m (excluding the buy-outs of the loaned players from last season). Sissoko and Melo (if you include his buy-out clause) raise 20m....which brings the net to 60m....and I am sure you can get at least 10m from selling Martinez, Amauri, Iaquinta and Manninger.

Plus the team would have many tactical options with Mascherano.

Starting 11:

-----------------Buffon----------------

Lichsteiner----Alex----Chiellini----Bastos (I know not going to happen but I would have done it)

------Vidal----Pirlo-----Mascherano----

---Krasic------Matri/Quags-----Vucinic--

And if you want to play a 442:

---------------Buffon--------------------

Lichsteiner-----Alex----Chiellini----Ziegler

Krasic------Vidal----Masch/Pirlo----Bastos

-------Matri/Quags-----Vucinic----------

or hell even a 4-2-3-1

-------------------Buffon---------------------

Lichsteiner----Alex----Chiellini-----Bastos/Ziegler

--------------Pirlo----Mascherano--------------

---------Krasic-----Vidal-----Vucinic/Bastos----

------------------Matri/Quags------------------

By the way, even if Bastos is not possible... Vargas also has experience as a left back and could give us more tactical options as well.

Also just thinking about it....Vidal-Pirlo-Mascherano would so complement eachother. Pirlo the deep playmaker, Vidal the box to box player who makes attacking runs, Mascherano the ball winner. But the cool thing is that each player is also good on the ball and good at distribution. It works very well. Marotta should take this opportunity and buy him!

If by some miracle we were to sign Alex, Masca and a good LW by selling Amauri, Iaquinta, Grygera, Martinez Grosso..we'd have a quality team

i'd be happy with one of Alex or Masca both can add a lot to the team
