All good, that champions league final was deceiving. I dont think Nani will be benched for united, he was merely not played because he is not defensive enough. Weak move from Sir Alex IMO.

Vucinic on the left of a 4-4-2 would never work especially if Krasic is on the right. Krasic-Vidal-Pirlo-Vucinic would be a recipe for disaster. Pirlo is not a terrier but Vidal is. Nani on the left is no defensive guru but he would at least know how to defend unlike Vucinic. Vucinic should play as a support striker or left striker in a 4-3-3 or indeed play up front with Quags - both are versatile so hard for the opposition to decide who to man mark as the target man.

:agree:

People tend to forget that a wide man or a 'winger' in a 4-4-2 is not at all stripped of his defensive duties. In Conte's system the 'wingers' need to be even more energetic because of the dynamism of his aproach concerning the wings. So many people putting Vucinic out wide on the wing in their formations and that is wrong because he won't fit there in Conte's system. If we play 4-3-3 that would be other case though.

We can't really judge Bale as a winger with Tottenhams misfiring strikers lol. But he's a game changer.

Nani is a game changer too, and I'd go for Nani.

we're getting none of those though.

Bale is a very good winger but crazily ovverated after that Inter game. I would love him here but he does not justify his price. Nani is miles ahead of him IMO.
