Why, oh dear god why we never tried for Nuri Sahin is beyond me? I was just watching some youtube :tuttosport: material about Ozil and I am wondering again - why we never tried for him as an LM either? He is exactly the winger/AM type like Nedved we so much loved. His salary is in the region of 5 mils, a bit less i think ... was this the deal breaker? Because his price of less than 15 mils surely wasn't! Now, Kaka is his substitute and I don't think the brazilian would play anywhere for less than 5 mils.

I just don't believe in this management anymore. We are exchanging mediocre for mediocre players and wasting money every season, because 'we cannot compete with the CL teams', but this way we'll never do. I would prefer us to sign two top players this season and be over with it - if we can't spend more - rather than sign 6 much needed 'marotta champions' on 'great deals'. But so far we've signed 3 backups all on a free transfer and we are looking less likely to sign even the top drawer player we have been promised.

How's the Aguero deal coming?

Fernando is going to be an amazing CDM if he can't already be considered one. I don't think we would need both him and Melo though. Fernando and Inler would bring different attributes to the squad. Inler is a decent passer but Fernando is a more pure CDM like Melo.

If Aguero does not arrive here, very few people can give this team the push towards CL, if anyone at all. He wants Barca or Real, but Real cannot pounce and Barca are confused as to whom will be the best substitute out of Rossi, Aguero and Sanchez. We have more than a chance here - imagine if Perdo/Messi/Villa/Ronaldo/Benzema was leaving? We should simply forget about it then, hah? If Marotta cannot convince a player that will be given the highest statute possible in this team to join us (moreover this player, talented as he is, isn't a national starter and does not have any significant titles under his belt) he is a douche bag or Juventus is doomed as a team.

no we don't...you seriously telling me Napoli, Udinese and Lazio have better squads than us?

we need a Coach who can arrange the defence.

Yes, there are two ways to make it to CL. One is with a few WC players as some of us propose and the second option is balanced squad and a coach that squeezes the maximum out of each game. Now we are trying for the 3rd year to do the latter, so far unsuccessfully as you know. We have Conte as a coach and I highly doubt he has the experience to squeeze the maximum out of a balanced team(which we don't have still), even if only because he does not know the team well enough yet.
My idea is the following: Even if we make it to CL then what? Quag might be good enough to get us points against most Seria A teams, but he will certainly not impress Pique or Vidic. We need players that could be deadly against anyone. Lets take Aguero as an SS (for example) or Sanchez as an LM. We have signed a few zieglers as squad memebers, if the money are over thats it. Next year we need to buy one great LB or RB and so on... All of Sanchez, Pastore, Aguero, Lukaku, Ozil, Sahin have the years in front of them so that Marotta can change the entire starting eleven if he signs 2 WC players per year. If he finds a gem or two like sorensen or Quag/Matri now and then, we would be world class in 3 years. That means we would have been CL and more by now.
