I hope its the same chap, as he is exactly what the team needs, in terms of ne vital element of their training...DISCIPLINE and world class physical training.

What makes you think Conte is different? He probably was asked not to interfere with the purchases as a condition to accept the job.
Conte wants to win, wherever he is, and winning at juventus is his major aim in his managerial career, as it was in his playing career. he is not like delneri, as a man, he is obviously a lot stronger, even arrogant, and i suspect, so extremely self assured and passionate, that those crossing him would never forget it. In comparison, Ranieri (who obviously DID have some say in transfers...'alonso was too slow'), Ciro, Zach, Delneri...none of them have anywhere near the manly zeal of Conte. They all seemed like nice guys. Even ciro appeared at times even studious, like he should be in the library hidden behind vast rows of books. I don't think ciro had any say in transfers, nor zach..butg ranieri did. As for delneri...i dont think he had much say, if any. But Conte, to my mind, is very different. The fact that he openly spoke about discussing transfer matters with marotta, and marotta spoke of trying to provide conte with a team he wants, is enough to convince me that they are working hand in hand...

And my perception of conte as a man, a man who above all else is desperate to succeed at Juventus, I truly believe he wouldn't have taken the job if he had been told not that he had no say in transfers. Conte knows that a recipe for disaster, not success. He wants HIS team, so if it succeeds its HIS victory, and if it fails its HIS failure.

this disjointed approach to transfers that we showed with delneri and Ciro, is always going to lead to failure...it can only work, i mean a sporting director controlling all transfers, if he had huge resources, brilliant connections and scouts, the club itself has huge prestige and appeal, and the sporting director himself understands football enough to aim for useful players only. We don't have any of that...we have a half decent sporting director, a decent amount of cash, fast eroding prestige and few champions in the squad already.

Yes...I am sure conte has a big say in transfers.

Emerson told Tuttosport: "Neymar's a phenomenon, but I'm not sure that he is suitable for Italy. I would see him better in Spain."

When asked for an alternative, he added: "Lucas Moura, from San Paulo. [He is] a second striker or attacking midfielder: he is already very suitable for Italian football."

Does anyone else get the feeling that again, Marotta is doing too much in the one mercato? He has so many players to sell off that it might be getting in the way of negotiations for new players. Could be part of the reason other clubs seem to weasel their way into all Marotta's deals.

He needs to get rid of shit players which is quite impossible. Grosso, Grygera, Iaquinta wont go anywhere unless their contract are (mutual) terminated)
Tiago and Amauri already are on loan so it could ease the job.

We wont get anything back for Martinez, so we might as well try to keep him for a full season

Selling Sissoko wont be that hard, he's got quite some admirers.

We've signed two players already and the mercato isn't even open. I think he'll have time.

After almost a year of inactivity, the blue goalkeeper is back in the transfer market since it has shown, however, radar in the past of being a goalkeeper at the highest level. Hot weather the hypothesis Lazio (contacts between Bozzo, the player's agent and Lotito), according to a statement by Sky Sports, in the final hours would be made the interest of Juventus, which could form the "national couples" Buffon left-Marchetti just to Lazio Marco Storari.

Not all big investments happen on the last day of the mercato. Marotta needs to offload this dead weight so he can focus on the big purchases early. There will be a scramble for players like Aguero and Sanchez between big clubs and we are definitely worse off.
