They did have an article that Juve have expressed an interest in Aguero. So that's false too? :shifty:
Goal.com just tries to collect as much news as possible also from other websites, and the more news you post the more bullshit you're likely to report. I'd say 5-10% is true, you just need to pick which 1 out of 10 articles you'd like to believe.

Both, actually. Aguero would be awesome here, but I would not be willing to spend €45M solely on him as it is rumored around, as that would backfire at us sooner rather than later. The problem with this team was never scoring goals, but conceding. And in Serie A, the best teams in the league, always had the best defense; Milan this year conceded 24 goals, Inter conceded 34 in the previous, etc.

So yeah, I'd be willing to leave a forward line up of Quag, Matri, Del Piero and Toni for next season if it would mean we'll get some solid defenders instead.
Though I agree with what you say, I simply don't feel we'd chase top defenders if it weren't for a top signing. If all was set in other positions on the field, sure, we would, but I feel that us going after a top striker instead of say... Gilardino, is that extra investment we're willing to make at this point where we have a new stadium and we missed out on European football again.

Maybe I have little faith in our board which is making me say we wouldn't chase top defenders anyway, but that's how I think we should see this extra investment in top quality up front.

Sure, a top signing upfront would even make the fans more excited about next season in the new stadium. I guess the reason I'm saying this is because of the fact we have been filling the defense with average players for 4 years now and then we watch reports stating we're after a €45M attacker.

:D

Yeah, it works both ways. I'm going with the 'atleast we're finally starting to aim for top players in some department'-view. I'm not happy about our defensive problems either though, obviously. I'd go mental if I weren't to take the positive view in this case though.. too many fuckups over the past couple of years.

What baffles me is not the fact that we are rumoured to a player way out of our reach in Aguero but the alternatives to him are Sanchez and Pastore. One will play in the CL and the other will play in the EL. Regardless of what our club is called, lately it was evident what we are at the current moment in history.

None of Agüero, Sanchez, Pastore, Hazard, Hulk or any of these will arrive here, it's that obvious and the sooner you accept it the better. You will not get disappointed, you will not moan, you will not get annoyed and you will enjoy a calm summer.

I'm already calm...new job, good girl to come home too...my dog...we could get relegated again and I will still think we can sign Dzeko. :D

 Hus.

A bit of excitement never hurt anyone really. Even if I don't really expect those top players to join us, there's always a bit of hope, which, I feel, should always be there. That's why I still get annoyed when I watch Juve fail, even if I fully expected it. What's the point of being a fan otherwise? Just accept shittyness and be without emotions?

To those slating our gurus, it could be worse, I just saw this predicted lineup from a Liverpool "we have signed everyone" FC guru:
Reina

Johnson - Carragher - Agger - Coentrao

Sanchez - Gerrard - Adam - Hazzard

Aguero - Suarez
I'm not even sure where to start with it.

I have more faith than you that we can attract players, with both money and prestige.

I'm glad people are actually talking football during off-season. Otherwise it'd have to be people getting at each others throats all summer long. So I definitely won't be disappointed. Its nice to dream and have a healthy (and sometimes heated) debates. Personally the next few months are going to be high for me, so like Hus, I don't think I'll be disappointed either :)
