We've got PDC and Ziegler, why would we take a 33 (?) year old Heinze to be our next Grosso? I haven't really seen much from him over the last years, but I just don't think it would make sense.

It's all OK. Haven't you heard we're getting Kun? Bring 'em goals commin' next season. :weee:

Heinze had many good matches at Marseille. He did pretty good there.

I think his wages are huge, though.
Heinze would be perfect for us, he can provide cover for LB and CB and he's by no means a finished player yet he still has plenty of fight left in him, that alongside experience would make him the perfect tonic for the defence.
If Conte wants someone who doesn't enjoy loosing in his team then I can think of no better player, even if he doesn't play I'm pretty sure his personality would infect the team.

Are you saying this because people seem to forget about our defensive worries when they think of Aguero, or do you believe we'd actually sign better defenders if we weren't going to sign a top striker, but keep Quag/Matri and get... say Gila?

as backup CB, yes.
I'd rather give Sorensen a chance, also for his development and there's still Barzagli and Bonucci. If he comes he would take up minutes away from them. I don't think we need backup CBs, if we buy someone for defence it should be first team material.

Both, actually. Aguero would be awesome here, but I would not be willing to spend €45M solely on him as it is rumored around, as that would backfire at us sooner rather than later. The problem with this team was never scoring goals, but conceding. And in Serie A, the best teams in the league, always had the best defense; Milan this year conceded 24 goals, Inter conceded 34 in the previous, etc.

So yeah, I'd be willing to leave a forward line up of Quag, Matri, Del Piero and Toni for next season if it would mean we'll get some solid defenders instead.
