he was very good for Porto, kind of like Carvalho was for them under Mou, but then, when everyone expected he would go to one of the top European clubs, he moved to Zenit - money thing, I guess :sergio:
Haven't watched him regularly since
How do you dare? That's a fucking insult for the class Carvalho spreads on the pitch. Bruno Alves is a bit like David Luiz, if you want to compare.

Another day, another bunch of names linked to us. Man I can't wait til this mercato is over. What a let down it has been after a pretty promising July.
Just to think, about a month ago most of us were watching the Uruguay vs. Argentina game, praying that Argentina would be eliminated in hope that Aguero would reveal his future and Juventus would be his destination.

Quite sad if you ask me. Man, oh man, have the fans suffered over these last few years.

This team only has two real 4-4-2 wingers, Krasic and Pepe. It's not confidence inspiring.

I think a collective decision needs to be made to use 4-3-3. It seemingly suits more of the players on the team. Even Martinez is better used as a forward than as a winger. Picking up an additional CM would be smart. Gago is available for only €6-8m. Unlike most other Madrid players, his salary isn't sky high either, €2m. I think it's crazy to pass up on a buy like that because he can give the club a minimum of 5 years of service. A new center back is needed too. Alves, Alex, Lugano, whoever. Alves would be my preference from this trio of defenders.

I've narrowed down my wishlist to this team of 25 players.

Mirko/Pasquato ---- Matri/Quag/Toni --- Krasic/Martinez
Gago/Marchisio --- Pirlo/Marrone --- Vidal/Pazienza
De Ceglie/Ziegler --- Chiellini/Barzagli --- Alves/Bonucci/Sorensen --- Lichsteiner/Motta
Buffon/Manninger

you just angry 'cause BA was bitch-slapping Benfica players left and right :p

P.S. Agree Carvalho was better but BA was the leader of Porto's defense after Carvalho and then Pepe left.

YOU should have a Michael Jackson/Prince Boateng av.

How's he doing btw? :numnum:
and you just jealous

The only thing I don't get about our club is that we're so set on this 4-4-2 formation. It's ancient and archaic. It seems like our club is stuck in the past. Why aren't they being flexible and switching to a formation that actually suits our players such as a 4-3-3, which in theory would be perfect for our squad. There has to be something to it, I think (I hope) that our management are competent enough to have maybe experimented with it, and saw that it didn't work. Maybe Krasic isn't optimized fully as being a right forward.

Buffon
Lichtsteiner Lugano Chiellini De Ceglie
Vidal Pirlo Marchisio
Krasic Quagliarella Vucinic

It looks pleasant to me. I just don't understand why Conte, or anyone at Juventus, doesn't push for this formation but insist on using a formation where we're putting players out of position, not using them properly, or signing mediocre talent to fill in spots.

What the fuck is going on...

Marotta is jeopardising yet another Juve season by dragging his feet on deals for important positions. How is a manager supposed to do well if his transfer manager won't find the appropriate players for his formation and is forced to play another?
