My definition of shrewd is signing the best players you can for the least amount of money possible.

We are at this point as attractive as Sampdoria would have been to Zizou, and our fiscal health and world standing is akin to that of Sampdoria in 1996.

I suppose my overall motif is; Moggi couldn't get great players to join us, if we hired him tomorrow.
For a reason IZ. If we hadn't disbanded last year, before we could say "Take That", I can guarantee you, our appeal would've been a lot closer to the Juventus of old. Our fiscal health with this cash injection is comparable to our better years, but our appeal is not. A lot of that comes down to the fact, that this club is not being run by the kind of people who know business and the importance of being shrewd to run it. Moggi today, has been out of football for five years, and I believe the balance of power has shifted since then. He may have his task cut out today and may not be able to get us superstars today, but those cheap, quality signings you talk about he would pull off, like a Sahin for 9m? where the fuck were we when that deal was struck? I guess what I'm trying to say is we've missed a guy like Moggi running our affairs, because Marrotta just doesn't have an eye for talent. A big reason for our predicament.

For what its worth, Juve are rated as the 8th most valuable football club in the world (49th overall)

Manchester United
Real Madrid
Arsenal
Bayern Munich
Barcelona
Milan
Chelsea
juventus (620 Million)
Imagine our true value, had calciopoli not struck. We'd be top 3, new money or not. I guess it just shows how well this club was built to hold equity no matter what. And arsenal 3rd? WTF!

We were, prior to the Exor bailout -€57,452,794 I'd say I was being kind with the comparisson

We didn't buy Martinez this summer did we? no ,we bought him last season, I'm talking about right now. So let's talk about right now, what fucking planet are you living on if you think any superstar would come near us? Who would Moggi buy? tell me? Has he name dropped targets? Vidal, we're after him...

Moggi may have done a much better job than Marotta, I think he signed Deschamps in his first season, I dunno who else.

Could Krasic or Matri or Quag be as important as him? maybe. You're juding the ability of 12 years versus one, it makes no sense. You can't realistically compare two people working in two completely different environments.

New Stadium, huge fanbase, especially in the United States. It's no surprise, really

It's stupid to compare guys who have spent far differing times at a club anyway. That's without even considering that Moggi was the best in that kind of role, in the top bracket.

I wish we snapped up El Shaarawy, I have a feeling he's going to be great for AC Milan.
Andy, can you tell me what you're negative rep meant for this post?

"Bjerkness - Like Canada"

Were you crying again while watching the news about your country's debt problems?

We were in the red this season as a consequence of the last. WTF are you on? It is signings like Martinez and Bonucci that don't sell merchandise or perform on the pitch thats a large reason for where we are. Out of Europe, and dumping on 7th place as we speak. I'm talking about right now, and trust me, I don't know about signing Kaka, but I sure as hell know Motta wouldn't be here on loan. Fuck yeah. Marrotta has name dropped every body from Benzema to Higuain to Pastore, and Aguero. Superstars don't fear a lack of CL one season if they are paid well and see a project in place. It's the same reason coaches have rejected us. Not because of our lack of European participation, but more because we don't have clear ideas going forward.

What is this Marrotta's first year in this role bs that he needs time to settle against Moggi's 12? And if that's the fucking case, he had no right buying 12 new players for the team in his first year without understanding his environment. And maybe you don't want to compare the two, fair enough, different eras. But if you think their working conditions for this are worlds apart. You couldn't be further from the truth. This idiot is being spoon fed all the way to the bank, while we have fans in Dublin thinking he's a balding hero.
