Report: Higuain considering transfer
28 April 2012
Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain is currently assessing his options ahead of next season, according to a report.
The Argentina international has scored 25 goals in all competitions this season, but he has been consigned to the role of bench-warmer in recent months as a result of Karim Benzema's impressive form in attack.
His agent, Norberto Cacho Recasens, will reportedly land in the Spanish capital this weekend to sit down with Santiago Bernabeu officials and learn whether there is room for improvement in his client's situation, according to AS.
Juventus, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have all been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old forward, who joined Real from River Plate in 2006 in a 13-million-euro (10.8m pounds) deal.
However, signing Higuain will prove to be a difficult task: the Argentine has a contract with Madrid until 2016 and a release clause of 200m euros (167m pounds).
Hugain's contract too long and buy-out clause to much. No way, if we need to take him, may pay more than Cavani.
