Would surely be better than having Pepe there. Of course I'd prefer Jojo or Gotze, but I'd be very happy to sign Rossi.

Juve wouldn't be as well balanced if they were to replace Pepe with someone who will do no defending.

Of course, one is willing to sacrifice work in favour of talent to some extent when trying to upgrade Pepe, but it would be a mistake to just put a striker in there rather than a winger or an attacking midfielder.

I don't feel like that will be an issue. Conte doesn't seem the type to go after players who won't be willing to track back.

how can you all say it would never work if we had something like

the pressure alone for holding that attack power would keep their fullbacks in defence,hence not needing more player do defend.
so if you replace pepe with ,lets say, jovetic.even though he might not defend that much, he would for sure make the other team's left back stay and keep a close eye on him rather than attack for fun like everyone is doing with pepe.

Jovetic might be borderline.

He'd probably do some defensive work if he was told to, but that would probably mean that you wouldn't see him doing as much in attack.

He's also not at his best when asked to start wide.

Vucinic also tries to track back from time to time. I think it could work against small teams, but not against good teams and especially in Europe :xfinger: That would leave Vidal and Marchi to cover both wings and the MF, that's a lot of work even if they are both excellent.
Jovetic plays his best as a SS and i think he can play as LW in 3 man attacks, but i just don't see Conte playing both him and Vucinic at the same time, that's will be sucidal againt good teams .

I don't think it would be a problem. If Pepe can defend like that and still contribute so much to the attack then Jojo surely can Unless it's a matter of endurance. Can he match Pepe's?
