van persie is staying at arsenal and rejected any motion of a move to Juventus cause he believes Juventus are not a step up in his career :howler:

GO F*CKING ROT WITH arsenal. Hope arsenal get europa league football next season just so i can laugh at him for his reasoning
yeah i guess it's not okay for players to love their clubs. guess buffon is a wanker for staying with juve down in b when he could have taken a step up in his career and won CL with Milan or Barca

Cissokho is turning into a modern transfer myth, 'the quality left back that everyone wants' who seems to remain at Lyon by the end of every transfer window.

Or Lyon just ask for too much. He'd be an improvement over DC imo.

Buffon and Juve were already winners and successful before serie B and even so we were always destined for greatness again so your point is invalid, for the most part we bought good individuals, just that they never fitted as well as we had hoped but the ambitions were always clear, what im saying is van persie has been at arsenal for a while and the club has been gradually declining over the years, look at how they sold fabregas and ended up replacing him with arteta, doesnt that tell you something?

We've just been given £50mil (or maybe it's euros, I'm unsure) for winning the Scudetto and qualifying for the CL, and it looks like we're already going to be spending some of it... on Borriello (if reports are to be believed).
I'm seriously concerned about the lack of a PROPER striker who will bang in 20+ goals a season, AND the lack of a Del Piero type player with amazing dribbling skills and flair.
Also, has anyone given the set-pieces any thought? With Del Piero leaving, and Pirlo more than likely to be given more rests next season, who exactly is going to take our free-kicks?
Ugh. All so much to think about.
It's also quite sickening to think that people would be happy for us to spend £40mil on Cavani, when we spent just £15mil on Trezeguet..(I'm aware that in today's market, that would have probably been more like £30mil). I passionately hate just going for the 'big' players.
Van Persie cost Arsenal £2.7mil. Messi cost Barcelona nothing but some compensation etc. They found these diamonds on their own.
They didn't just wait for a player to become noticed, and then get in a big bidding war or go for other club's stars who are already about to leave their prime. We just need some better scouting IMO.

Although I do understand your point but a captain never leaves his ship ;)

Nothing to be mad. He was a smokescreen for another player after all. Sum up all expenses we should make to bring him here and feed through all years of contract. It would be like 80 - 90m for 4 years of playing (30m for Arsenal + 8m net/16m gross per year). We cant afford this, especially if we take into account that Van Persie is 29 years old. Cavani is much better choice. He will earn half VP wages and we can put on the table some names that Napoli could be interested.

Cissokho has been pathetic since he joined Lyon, Kolarov would be good offensively but defensively he isn't as good as De Ceglie or Caceres. I remember Marotta mentioned they have not found the right LB to be purchased. I agree with that. There has been a dearth of great LB as compared to RB. Apart from Alaba of Bayern, who i think is a great player, we should move for Assou-Ekotto. He been pretty awesome this season for Spurs.
But we certainly wont move for Cissokho. We have the chance on January but we decide not to.

I think Ivanovic + Kolarov would be perfect. Kolarov would be devastating in a 3-5-2 plus Ivanovic is a good backup for all positions. And don't forget Licht and Kolarov tore shit up in their nazio days.
